In Susan Curry’s second novel, Earth, Resumed, the survivors of the Ripples experience the hardships of setting up a new society in Key West. Lawlessness, murder, arson and suicide thwart their attempts to create a Utopian existence. Finding a way to simply survive won’t be enough when a new survivor arrives - wanting change. He wants to run the whole island according to his rules and his willingness to use violence brings the survivors to a breaking point. They are forced to choose sides as a dangerous struggle between good and evil unfolds.
I spent a great deal of my life in Key West, Florida, so it seemed only natural to set my books there. I currently live in Chuburna Puerto, Mexico, and I am working on my fourth book, A New Earth. My other three books, When Earth Paused, followed by Earth, Resumed and Earth Struggles follow a group of post-apocalyptic survivors as they struggle to stay alive in Key West.
