Del paesaggio e altri scritti

«Dobbiamo diventare bambini, se vogliamo raggiungere il sublime». Queste parole, che Rilke scrisse in un testo sull’arte del paesaggio, si possono leggere come il condensato della sua percezione delle cose, di una sensibilità che con lui nasce e con lui muore. Una sensibilità che si esprime con rara intensità in tutti gli scritti offerti in questo volume – raccolti e tradotti da Giorgio Zampa, che di Rilke è stato uno dei massimi interpreti –, attraverso meditazioni e memorie, confessioni e impressioni di viaggio, lettere (come quelle a un giovanissimo Balthus) e visioni oniriche. Una sensibilità che si trasmette al lettore grazie a una prosa tra le più alte del Novecento tedesco, aerea e profonda, lucente e umbratile. Una sensibilità capace di cogliere il riverbero dell’assoluto in ogni oggetto a cui si volge: dall’arte («Proprio dell’artista è amare l’enigma. Ché ogni arte è solo amore riversato sopra enigmi») all’«essenza infantile e portentosa» del poeta, all’erotismo («una cosa affatto incommensurabile che gli uomini non si stancano di aggredire con norme, misure, regolamenti»). E in grado di spingersi «là dove la realtà conosciuta e quella inconoscibile si concentrano in un solo punto, si completano e diventano un unico possesso» – dove l’esteriore e l’interiore formano «uno spazio ininterrotto in cui, arcanamente protetto, resta un solo punto di purissima, profondissima coscienza».

A mystic lyricism and precise imagery often marked verse of German poet Rainer Maria Rilke, whose collections profoundly influenced 20th-century German literature and include The Book of Hours (1905) and The Duino Elegies (1923).

People consider him of the greatest 20th century users of the language.

His haunting images tend to focus on the difficulty of communion with the ineffable in an age of disbelief, solitude, and profound anxiety — themes that tend to position him as a transitional figure between the traditional and the modernist poets.

His two most famous sequences include the Sonnets to Orpheus , and his most famous prose works include the Letters to a Young Poet and the semi-autobiographical The Notebooks of Malte Laurids Brigge .

He also wrote more than four hundred poems in French, dedicated to the canton of Valais in Switzerland, his homeland of choice.

Interesante acercamiento a los pintores del grupo de Worpswede. Me ha ayudado, sobre todo, a comprender el paisaje que tanto influyó en el desarrollo artístico del grupo. Es una pena que Rilke no haga ni una triste mención a Paula Modersohn-Becker.

Una raccolta variegata di testi di Rilke, il mio primo approccio con la sua prosa. Una prosa splendida, da cui emergono a mio avviso tre scritti tra tutti: Samskola, Del paesaggio e Rumore primigenio. Le parole sul paesaggio sono profondissime e indimenticabili.

Landschafts-/Naturpoesie ist nicht so meins. Manchmal kam aber auch doch das Gefühl auf, dass Rilke eine Naturszene beschreibt, die das Leben widerspiegelt. "Abend" hat es mir da angetan.

Perhaps not my favorite Rilke, but the beautiful edition I received as a gift is illustrated beautifully with paintings and charcoal sketches by Rilke's friend Heinrich Vogeler.
