“I’m beginning to understand why Jenna feels the need to get into the mill,” Toby said. “Look at this picture.” All three of them looked closely at a picture from 1896 of the mill workers. There, sitting on the floor closest to the camera, was a young girl—who looked exactly like Jenna…When Jenna Stevens moves to Orchard Creek, New York, she is immediately drawn to the old mill. At 12, she is unaware of the abilities she has that can connect with those who lie beyond the veil. Or to what measures desperate souls will go to achieve their deepest desires. To her, they’re just dreams. Or are they? With ancient diaries, cryptic puzzles, and loyal friends, Dream Seer is a fast-paced pursuit to set things right before the veil closes—and Jenna’s very essence ceases to exist. Because no matter what, history will always repeat itself.

This was such a great book! I love the setting and the time period....oh the roller skating memories! I also loved the nods to the central New York area. The characters are smart and lovable and I love the friendships they develop. At first I thought this was a YA book because the main characters are pre-teens, but the intelligent story and use of vocabulary makes it a great read for any age. It is such an Interesting and well developed story with some great surprises. I hope there will be more books with these characters. I would love to follow them in their adventures as they grow up!
