Lectures on Mean Curvature Flows

Rate this book
Mean curvature flow is a term used to describe the evolution of a hypersurface whose normal velocity is given by the mean curvature. In this book, the author, a lecturer at The Institute of Mathematical Sciences of the Chinese University of Hong Kong, gives an account of fundamental results on singularities and the asymptotic behavior of mean curvature flows in higher dimensions. Among other topics, he considers Huisken's theorem, the evolution of non-convex curves and hypersurfaces, and the classification of singularities of the mean curvature flow. The book is for graduate students and researchers working in differential geometry and partial differential equations, engineering, chemistry, and biology, and can be used as a supplementary text for an advanced course in differential geometry.
