Nothing ever stays quiet at Hattie's Cauldron Potions & Pastries. Witches say what you put out into the world comes back threefold, and that's exactly what Hattie is hoping for when an old enemy comes back to town.

Hattie has to decide if he's a friend or still a foe as she embarks on ensuring justice is served on a lingering murder investigation. Can Dante La Croix help Hattie finally bring the killer to justice or will he use his voodoo to drive her out of town?

If that wasn't enough, Hattie and Harper are trying to prove a local author is being framed for the murder of a rival. Two authors, similar names, same city - there's more than just a simple coincidence at play. Harper is developing her psychometry ability more and more each day. It might be just the skill needed to catch a killer when even the cops can't figure it out.

If you like charming characters, a hint of romance and an entertaining cozy mystery with a fun paranormal twist, you'll love Rule of Three. Read Book 3 in the Hattie & Harper Magical Mystery Series. While this is a standalone mystery, it does contain spoilers for Saints & Sinners Ball Book #1 in the series.

Do things really happen in threes?

I’ve heard all my life that both good and bad things happen in threes. After reading this story, I am wondering about the validity of the belief. I didn’t realize that karma is a Wiccan belief before. I thought that it was merely a term for “What comes around, goes around.” Hmmm… food for thought.

Harper’s prior knowledge of the world of publishing is an immense help as she works to unmask the murderer of a local author. Lanie, a popular indie author, is a customer of aunt’s shop who is being framed for the murder of another author.

Dante, Hattie’s old frenemy who is a powerful practice of Voodoo, has been seen around town with Hattie’s current nemesis, Matthew Inslee – a powerful politician who has threatened Hattie more than once that he would run her, and her kind, out of town. Dante approaches Hattie, telling her that he wants to make amends for his former behavior and be friends – or more. Can Hattie trust him or is he working with Matthew Inslee to ruin her for good?

Harper must call on the help of all of her friends to solve these mysteries before harm comes to her or her family and friends. Will their united front be enough to stop the evil surrounding them all?

This is a clean, entertaining, and intriguing, romantic mystery. I know that I have said this before, but it merits saying again… Stacy M. Jones is a gifted storyteller who does not need to include profanity, sexual scenes, or graphic violence in her book in order to grab the reader’s attention and hold it until the final word. Kudos to Stacy!

This is a brilliant read.
Wonderful well written plot and story line that had me engaged from the start.
Love the well fleshed out characters and found them believeable.
Great suspense and action with wonderful world building.
Can't wait to read what the author brings out next.
Recommend reading.

I read a complimentary advance copy of the book; this is my voluntary and honest review.

Elaine S Dunham has become unofficial “writer in residence” at Hattie’s Cauldron. Hattie thinks she seems troubled, frustrated even. Lanie seems to have lost her connection to her “muse”.

Meantime, there’s a new author in town with an almost identical name – Elayne Susanne Dunham – with her first book pretty well a copy of Lanie’s first book from years ago.

A fresh, inventive tale of writers and plagiarists, revenge and magical mayhem; Jones had populated this small town with great characters – I wish I had an Aunt Hattie – and intriguing stories. Not your average cozy here, but a story that grabs your attention on several counts and holds it tight.

Jones has an easy writing style. And while the plot thickens with revenge, the resolutions are not what you’d expect, and that keeps you turning pages!

[Many thanks to the author for the opportunity to read an Advance Reader Copy of this book. I was not required to, however this is my honest review. The opinions expressed herein are entirely my own.]

harper and aunt hattie are at it again! with the help of all their gang can they solve the newest mystery thrown in their laps?
harpers abilities are growing and shes becoming more comfortable with them while her and jackson are furthering their relationship. sarah and hattie are struggling to contact the dead, and an enemy from hatties past is back in town.
the local writer is having trouble writing and is being plagerized and stocked until the person stalking her turns up dead. hattie and harper have to help her. with the help from the dead and their own abilities they are uncovering more and more of the mess that has became the writers life while dealing with matthew inslee at the same time. harper is in it deep this time and only her powers and her friends can help her solve the problems and keep her safe.
i absolutely love this series. the writing is great and the characters are well developed. the plots are always interesting and the books are on point. i would and have recommended these books to anyone who enjoys almost any genre of books.

Rule of Three is book three in the Harper & Hattie Magical Mysteries. It can function as a stand alone, but getting to know the main characters from the previous books adds to the charm. This series is cosy mysteries with the added twist of a little magic courtesy of Harper and her Aunt Hattie who are witches. Harper is getting used to the idea of magic and also having a romance with Jackson. When an author is killed in their shop Hattie and Harper search for the killer. Thanks to Stacy M Jones for letting me read an ARC of this fun book. It was just the escape from reality I needed.

Rule of Three is the third book in the Harper & Hattie Magical Mystery series and is a charming cozy mystery.

I loved this book and the characters within the pages. Harper and Hattie are well depicted, intelligent, and likable. The story is well crafted and engaged my interest from the start, with humour, murder, old enemies, magic, mystery, and a touch of romance.

I cannot wait for the next book in this wonderful series.

It is refreshing to have more than one main character that one gets so involved and invested in. I found myself wanting more of both Hattie and Hannah. I really enjoyed their interactions and was so curious to find out the whodunit that I could not put the book down and as an added bonus, like real life, there was more than one storyline at once. It was so much fun to immerse myself in both. I cannot wait to read more. I highly recommend Rule of Three.

Fun, cozy reads!
Harper and Hattie are a great sleuthing team with an uncanny knack for a bit of the paranormal! You will enjoy their escapades as they move from one mishap to another, joined by a ragtag team of friends. Harper in particular is a gem as her abilities continue to grow. An enjoyable series with puzzles to solve, secrets to uncover, with a dash of humor added to the brew! Enjoy!

I love a good murder mystery where there’s a range of suspects.

The suspects have different motives that are logical and reasonable. AND then there are the magical elements to the story - using a dead PI to listen in on conversations or getting a reading of a person by holding their hand. A little bit of bluff also helps.

The characters are fun and who-dun-it is great.

Rule of three Stacy Jones

I am enjoying this series. Unfortunately there is a proofreading issue. There are multiple grammatical errors and i
Improper sentences throughout this book. I hate reading 'that' is used in referring to a person rather than 'who'. People are not a that. I am hopeful MS Jones addresses this issue in future books.

Beautifully written

Another wonderful mystery. The storylines are so realistic and a bit crazy. I mean crazy, by some of the antics by Harper and Hattie only happen in the movies or tv shows. I love all the characters, especially the witches

Wonderful mystery

Well this is the third book I've read in the series and I figured it would get redundant by now but it hasn't. No boring repeats. It will definitely keep you turning the pages.

Multiple suspects

This was definitely a game of the usual suspects and they could have all committed the murder. A good whodunnit with a possible evil warlock in the mix
