This series has been a solid 4 stars for me, throughout.

I couldn't give it a 5 star mark, as it was really written for young adults, so lacked the true depth of plot, character, & emotive responses that I'm so used to, especially in truly adult books - but, saying that, it really IS a great read, in and of itself!

I thoroughly enjoyed Alex, Chine, and the rest of Team Boundless, and really wished that each book was of a length, as to get that deep knowledge of both characters, and situations, that I get in my adult-focussed books.

I guess I'm just one of those readers who enjoys all the minutiae of anything I'm reading at that time! Lol

The majority of the books that I've read, as a teen, and on through to adulthood, have usually been very word-rich!

I've always loved nothing more than to sink into a huge book, to get totally absorbed into the Worlds the characters move within, and the ONLY negative, that I've found with reading eBooks, is that they always seem so much shorter - unless, as is the case with certain of my new, favourite writers, they have very long series - which gives me that same satisfaction of engulfing myself into their Worlds! Lol

I guess I should tell you that I've been reading 'properly' since age 3, & have read a book a day - and, many times, far more than that, as a child - all my life, until I started falling ill, 29 years ago.

Now, sometimes, it's only 1 book a week that I can finish but, when everything is being as calm as it ever can be, I can still read around 3-5 books a week - to absorb, properly, all that I'm reading!

The only difference, nowadays, is that my memory is so poor, that I have to write a review immediately, or I forget the details!

Nowadays, I look at my memory problems as an asset, as I can re-read my books within a month or so, & not remember the details!

Before I became so ill, I would need to wait 10 YEARS - & would STILL remember most of the details!

I guess, what I'm saying, is that I learned to turn something that has been so detrimental in my life, into something positive - which is why I felt so for Alex who, despite her blindness, found a positive in her Game Playing! Lol

This final 'book' (sorry, but it feels like it's only a chapter or 2, in the Tomes I tended to read, previously to falling ill), was a great ending for the series.

It put a full stop on this part of Team Boundless and their adventures, but has kept the door open for further stories!

I hope there ARE some!

I have to admit to reading all of the Middeng3ard series, that I have read, so far, totally out of order!

I'm definitely not as good at reading chronologically any more - at least, not with new Authors, to me, OR new series, anyway!

Anyhoo, now that I've finished this final 'book of the 'Dragon Approved' series, I need to go on and choose the next book/series, to start!

I had a look, and it seems I haven't read the 'Dark Gate Angels' series yet, so I guess I'll go on and start this one, no matter where it actually is, in place of the Middeng3ard series!

So, Book One: 'War Elves and Drones', will be the start of this series and, once I've finished this, I'll catch you on the flip side, to let you know what I think of it!

The thirteenth and final entry of the Dragon Approved series by authors Ramy Vance and Michael Anderle opens with protagonist Alex Bound abed in a hospital, with the antagonistic alien Vardis nearby, still intent on using a universe-destroying weapon of mass destruction to eradicate the Dark One. Vardis kills and nurse and flees, with Alex pursuing and battling him alongside Roy for a few chapters, after which they confront the extraterrestrial in a volcano in Middang3ard, with some surprise twists ending the series, and the authors relaying notes about their wives’ opinions about their writing.

Overall, I definitely had a blast with the Dragon Approved novellas, with each story very well putting quality above quantity, generally being straightforward and easy to follow, and not lost among mountains of descriptions or longwinded passages that tend to mar the pacing of longer, more convoluted narratives in the fantasy genre. I didn’t realize until a few books into the series that there were other series set in the same universe, and while this one does borrow elements from stories such as Pern and to a lesser extent Wheel of Time (particularly with the malevolent evil known as the Dark One), I very highly recommend it.

Certifiably insane!

Alex and her team have some huge obstacles to overcome, and what a twist at the end! Alex needs Team Boundless to believe in her more than ever. This book was full of breath-holding action and how could Ramy leave us on such a cliffhanger? He had better be click-clacking away on the next book!

Awesome book!

I'm sad because this is the end for the Dragon Approved series. If you're reading this review, DO NOT MISS this series. Alex is the perfect heroine and her team make good sidekicks. The Books are short because they're written for the Young Adult market but are great reads. Keep churning out the awesome stories, guys!

Dragons triumph?

Was really disappointed when I turned the page and saw 'the end'. There seems so much more to be said. I will be reading Darkgate Angels to seek a resolution.

Woo hoo!

Will it truly end here? Say it isn't so...
I highly recommend this fascinating series, although I like for the heroes to be landed by every character.
Enjoy!

13 books, 1,040 pages, lots of hours of reading, and still an ending that doesn't wrap up the story.

The ending literally ends on a cliffhanger, and a lame one at that, and just points to another series and says "read this". This whole story could have been done and over with in 600-800 pages of goodness and I would love it.

The problem is, the story stretches on for too long, there are many inconsistencies in the authors writing, and they decided it was a great idea to publish the book in a set of 13 instead of a trilogy or something.

I did however, still quite enjoy the characters and story. Because of that I'm leaving 4 stars. I might go lower, but I don't want to hurt someone's rating.
