In Dayton O'Donnell's debut anthology, Shorts & Shit, he explores a bunch of different shit. Shit like dying; shit like moral ambiguity; shit like the thrill of petty theft in space.
With a mixture of short, fantastic fiction and accessible (not overly frilly) poetry, this anthology will likely leave you saying, "Huh, shit."
I think about death a lot, but I'm in love. So that's nice.
My taste is as sporadic as the types of stories I write. On my bookshelf at any given point in time are four or five different books, all of which I am reading in tandem.
Short stories are my jam and I love hopping between various anthologies. Takes me years to finish one book sometimes haha. Slowly but surely I get it read, though. I've gotten much more into poetry over the last few years as well. Outside of fiction and poems, I love learning new things and am often reading something about the craft of writing or articles on how to do things.
Oh, and there are NO greater literary masterpieces than that of the DuoLingo stories... Just amazing. I mean, holy shit.
