Ana is running for her life. And she has dragged Captain Drayton along, or did he drag her? Either way they are fleeing across the kingdom from visions, a nasty mage and an apathetic lord. The young Ed Forest is also running. He doesn’t know if he is running from what he knows he can’t be, or towards help to be the man his parents had hoped he would become. Something has drawn them all to an old man in the mountains. He ran away long ago, and he may not be the willing help that they need him to be. This unlikely group aim to restore the crown to the boy king, even if he doesn’t want it. Can they survive magic, evil relatives and one enormous dragon? Or is one amongst them a greater danger to their quest?
Georgina Makalani survives life as a servant of the public by hiding in cafes at lunch time with dragons, the occasional crazed faery, and a little bit of magic.
Georgina and her daughter live in beautiful southern Tasmania, with two crazy cats and a writing desk that overlooks the water.
I good start to a new series. The characters are well developed and lovable. The story line flows with just a few hiccups. By that I mean a few boring parts which are easily over came. All in all a good read. Good Reading Everyone!
I could hardly put it down and read it in just a few days. Very suspenseful with mysteries that draw you in and keep you guessing. Can't wait to read the next book. Amazing how the characters change from when you first meet them.
ONE FABULOUS RAG TAG JOURNEY!!! Dingy dragon! Georgina delivers one unique spin, tapping all the emotions running rampant, throwing this baby into a tizzy with stunning results, binding this baby together piece by piece. Showcasing the intimidating trials and challenging tribulations, stumbling through the crazy twists and wicked turns, testing them in ways they never saw coming. Twixt and twined and put through the wringer with a bounty of unsettling mishaps and surprising circumstances, blasts this little fella roaring to life spectacularly. Shenanigans, escapades and havoc rule supreme, rolling with the drama, turmoil, intrigue, danger, spiraling suspense and unnerving situations, along with a boatload of chaos while dodging evil intents, you have one intoxicating masterpiece. The characters are complex and authentic with depth and traits that blend and flow smoothly, transforming into genuinely charismatic personalities. The scenes are strikingly sharp with abundant details and descriptions creating a colorful backdrop that makes the storyline pop. Remarkable job Georgina, thanks for sharing this bad boy with us.
This team of travelers remind of the Dorothy, her dog, the lion and the tinman. Talk about a group of unconnected people (or beings) with one connected goal. Except the team from the wizard of Oz has one particular direction while this group is running away. Either way, this book promise a great adventure, and I can't wait for the next book to continue on this road.

Allow a full day for this family-friendly quest of a maid, a boy, an old general, a soldier who left his post, a farmer and his daughter, and a strange old man to perhaps put a boy King on his throne.
