When Julie heads out with her best friend for a vacation, they have nothing but good times and fun planned. What Julie didn't plan on, was the plane to go down over the ocean. When she washes up on a deserted island, she discovers that another passenger from the plane happened to make it to the island. Mitch is funny, knowledgeable, easy on the eyes, and Julie is thankful not to be alone.
When they go exploring the island, they find some caves that hold drawings, cryptic notes, and treasure. Though they have been warned, they proceed through the caves, and find themselves in a world that they can't believe exists.
~Mitch didn't think being trapped on an island with a beautiful woman was the worst thing in the world. Neither is being thrown into the past, and being expected to help the native islanders battle a curse that they have been fighting for decades. What's bad, is that Julie seems to be making Mitch break his own rules. Rules that he has stuck by for years; until now.
~Together they must help the people of the island and find a way to get back to their own time. But in order to do so, they must discover things about themselves that neither of them are ready for.

Stranded was a very odd Twilight Zone type book. It went from weird to crazy town very early on and after that initial shock I did really enjoy the book. I went in thinking this would be a typical stranded on deserted island romance and while it was that, it was so much more. I mean I never saw giant bugs from my nightmares, time travel, a trip to the loony bin or even a pirate connection on the horizon but yet here we are. All these random bits in the story, albeit strange, really did make for a fun and enjoyable read. I was most happy that the MCs went back to the island to live, with some modern amenities of course. You definitely need to go into this book with an open mind in order to have an enjoyable experience!

So, Stranded is weird. It's part typical deserted island romance, where Julie and Mitch, survivors of a plane crash, come together and fall instantly in love while isolated together. It's also part fantasy/time travel weirdness, involving hidden valleys, giant bugs, time travel and post-rescue delusions? Like I said, it's weird. The writing itself is fairly solid, with some smart plot points, but that was spoiled by an ending that was just confusing.

Not what I expected!

This was an amazing story and I loved every bit of it! I didn’t expect the turn of events or the Mysterious Island vibe but I really think this was so worth the read!
