Reflections: God, Judaism and Morality
The author, a retired nuclear scientist, was an aggressive atheist as a student in Stalinist Poland. Now he is a theist attending a Reform synagogue. Calling himself an "amateur theologist," he continues to learn about religion and make notes for himself. Impressed by "Judaism for Dummies," written in 2001 by Rabbi Ted Falcon and David Blanter, he has put together his collection notes with readers of their book in mind.
The author hopes his reflections will be useful to other amateur theologists (both Jewish and non Jewish), to teachers of elementary theology, and to their students. The content of the book can be summarized by titles of chapters, such as "Theists and Futile Conflicts," Debating God's Existence." and "Divine Moral Compass."
