Cara Daniels
I have always been the shy girl, the one the edge of the social circles. That was until the arrival of Blake Thompson.

He was my best friends new step-brother, forbidden, out of reach.
Or he should have been.

One glimpse behind the mask he wears for the world and I'm addicted to the alluring, intriguing person I find there.

Blake Thompson
There is never a good time to leave your dying father and friends, but senior year was the worst. It was bearable, just, because of Cara Daniels.

An obsession I never truly allowed myself, instead using her to make myself feel better.

She was the yard stick I used to measure every woman who followed here. Nobody ever measured up.

But now I’m a rockstar and she's just been hired to come on tour with us.

Can I trust this twist of fate? Or will our past destroy my present?

I don't usually write reviews, but this story is so high ranked and I was so disapointed that I feel like make I'm the only one who felt robbed of her time Nd effort to actually get through with this.
In the back of my mind I kept thinking..."the second part will be better...it will have more strenght...

I just would like to say that Cara missed a backbone all through out her school time..up unti one episode. Ok...rhen repeated the same behavior as an adult.
Marty annoyed me to no end... a toxic best friend, under develped character and boderline creepy at times.

Some epidodes in this got me wanting to actually scream: WHAT IS GOING ON...HOW DOES IT CONNECT WITH ANYTHING?
I just accepted and carried on...well, a terrible idea on my part. The second part is completely rushed and made no sense and I have to say that it was tempted to stop and read somdthing else...but well, once again I didn't.
When I got to the last page...i was I refused REFUSED to believe that the wrap up was just in fron of my deceived eyes, but it was....which led me to take a deep breath...close my eyes and contemplate how I could have enjoyed my time differently.
To the author, I'm so sorry I felt this way while reading your book...i'd just advise you to maybe develop better those characters, put together a clear timeline and purpouse in events that will actually be relevant for the story.

Nothing but the sheets is my first read from Stacey McWilliams and I am most definitely a fan of her writing after this!

Caralynn is getting ready with some last minute senior year school shopping alongside her twin brother Josh and Mum, when she has a unfortunate stumble🤦🏻‍♀️ and falls into a tall, muscled but scowling boy. His cocky “You should be more careful Princess” has Caralynn flustered but she brushes the encounter off she continues on her way.
Upon arriving home she find her best friend Marty waiting for her explaining the summer hadn’t been kind to him and that his Dad remarried and he now has step brother living with him, This transpires to be none other than the scowling rude boy from the mall! Blake!

Blake’s whole life has been turned upside down! His Mum has remarried and is moving herself and Blake to live with her new husband. Blake has left his friends, band, sisters, grandparents and most importantly his Dad who is unwell.

Blake and Caralynns paths cross more than once and the undeniable attraction is too strong to ignore even though their relationship is forbidden by Marty. The emotional moments these two encounters during their time together pulls them together until someone makes a huge life decision that impacts their relationship forever.

This story takes you on an emotional rollercoaster through the lives of Caralynn and Blake.

I loved the twists and turns this book offered, it kept me engaged, just when I thought I had worked out where the plot was going...WHOOSH I was off in a completely different direction to what I originally thought.

I enjoy how the author gives you a strong knowledgeable background on all the characters which enables you to understand and connect with them on a better level.

I like Caralynn, she’s an all round great female lead. I love her determination that oozes from the pages, she has fantastic relationships with her parents and brother...but can we talk about her Grandparents? YUK!!
There were a few moments when her vulnerability allowed her to be taken advantage of and I was becoming disappointed with her for allowing this to happen but...this is rectified in the second half of the book. I ended the book absolutely loving her personality, independence and how she is always staying true to herself no matter what is thrown her way!

Blake...hmm I really struggled with Blake’s character in the first few chapters. He was cocky, rude and not a good human! What the author does incredibly is create a character you instantly dislike, but upon reading Blake’s past and what he’s having to endure it allows you to understand his challenging ways and he does redeems himself...but it’s one hell of a ride to do so!!!

One quote that I really loved and feel has an important message is -

“The real world doesn’t care how popular you are at school, or who your friends are. They care about the kind of person you are and how you treat others”

I would definitely recommend this book and look forward to reading more of Stacey’s writing.

Cara was sweet, beautiful and smart but Blake was just horrible. Yeah he was living in a new state with a new father while his real dad dying of cancer was back home. He didn’t like his mother much and it was understandable. Cara couldn’t figure him out and he was acting like a total tool to her. I’m half way through the book and not much has changed. Blake is still sad over his loss, Cara can’t figure out why he’s ignoring her. Every time she finds Blake in a vulnerable position he treats her worst then the last time, she’s like his personal punching bag. Also none of her friends in school are talking to her over defending herself against a bully. There seems to be lots of events, conversations and things that are not moving this story forward. Finally Blake stops acting like a total jerk and admits to Cara and himself how he feels and my kindle almost exploded when they got together on the last day he’d ever see her again.
And then the story picks up five years later when he’s a rockstar and she ends up as publicist on his tour. I’m almost done with this book and the time these two spend apart it’s amazing to me there’s a happy ending. Also there are things that were important to this story and the author chose to tell instead of show. Cara is supposed to be this strong character but she crumbled like a cookie and Blake treated her like a doormat throughout the entire book. I found the happy ending rushed, I was very disappointed. When it jump to two years later I couldn’t muster enough interest to read it, I was done. I’m giving this book two starts and I can’t recommend it.

A lovely musically based book. This book was emotional as well as streamy! A great little read exploring the ups and downs of relationships and facing an Ex after an extended period of time where personal growth has occurred. I quite enjoy books that have time jumps where the past is explored as much as the present/ future so this was a great book. It was also written in both the main character's perspectives which I love. If you don't like this jumping then this is either a book that. you will need to make an exception for or one to skip.

The only downpour is that the story wraps up its problems quite quickly for my liking as I enjoy it when the issues are broadened and explored a little bit deeper. However, this is a completely personal opinion as not everyone likes the same things. So if you are one to love stories with romance and a HEA scenario than this is a book for you.

Blake Thompson doesnt have a choice about moving to a new town uprooted from everyone and everything he loves and knows until Cara Daniels helps our mysterious new teen with his emotions and feelings.

With being Cara's best friend Martys' stepbrother he isn't the most liked person around but feelings don't stop for anyone, can they both fight the battle between each other?

With Blake managing to get back to his roots a little part of him always will remain with his Cara, until a path in their connections brings them together.

Can Blake and Cara reconcile? What challenges and twists await them on their journey after 5years apart?

This story warms the heart and keeps you engaged with Blake's moody temperament and Caras fiesty mannerisms the pair have lots of clashes and explosions keeping you engaged throughout. A must read.

Nothing But The Sheets is another engaging and moving story with a male lead who you want to claim for your own even though he finds his perfect partner within the pages you were unable to stop turning. As with every other book I've read by this gifted author, I found myself reading until the early hours because her stories are so addictive and have you hooked throughout. I'm not usually one for cliffhangers, but cliffhangers are something Stacy McWilliams loves to do at the end of her books and I wanted one for this 5 star read so I could lose myself in another book about Blake and Cara - I just wasn't ready for my journey with them to end. Stacy McWilliams is an author I happily discovered by chance and I'm so looking forward to the next few months as she has some amazing releases coming our way!

Wow what a rollercoaster of a story this is...

From the minute I started reading this book I was hooked....I loved how it took you on a whirlwind ride and you didn’t know which way it would go. The storyline is amazing and one i definitely would recommend.

Cara and Blake are truly fabulous characters to read, you just fall in love with Blake and his swoon worthy moments. His love for Cara is visible from the get go and you just want them to be together but Stacy has a way with words and keeps you guessing right till the very end.

There’s so many times I wanted to throw my kindle across the room, especially towards the end but Stacy has produced a story that had me hooked and I couldn’t stop reading.

Hands down a 5 ⭐️ read and one everyone should read.

I volunteered to read this ARC for an honest review. I enjoyed this story immensely. The characters were amazing. Cara and Blake have a turbulent beginning. He's her bff's new stepbrother. They are seniors in high school when Cara meets Blake for the first time. Marty doesn't like him so she's kinda of torn. He's into music and she's more shy. He's angry because his mom made him move to Idaho while his dad is fighting cancer. Their relationship hits several snags including mistrust, secrets, jealousy, disgruntled girls who are mad about their friendship and then betrayal. Great HEA after they find the truth.

What a great little read of forbidden love....

Cara and Blake have an instant attraction but faced many obstacles that denied them the teenage romance they deserved
I loved the time hop in the story and how they progressed in life after their school years and how they become reconnected
I probably would have liked to have seen more of Cara’s best friend and brother in the last half of the book as her go to for advice over the phone when she felt upset and lonely during the tour but how the story is told still worked well, had great suspense and shock value and the make up at the end was super cute!!

Great read!

I had no clue what I was getting into when I started this book but after loving the cover I decided to just jump into reading and what a journey that these characters went on throughout the book!
Cara and Blake are brought together when Blake moves after his mum gets married to someone else but although they may be neighbours they have a instant dislike against each other due a twist in circumstances.. but unfortunately the intense chemistry brings them across each others paths again and again proving that fate may just want them together after all.
This book has a bumpy ride of highs and lows with every emotion you can think of thrown right into the story too.

I really want to like this book. I love Stacy McWilliam’s stepbrother (book1) and stepsister (book2) and thought she did an excellent work with that hence my excitement to read this one. But boy, I was in for a big disappointment after reading it.

First, I hate Cara’s character, like seriously does she ever have self preservation or self respect? She’s been humiliated, treated like a total piece of crap, ruined her career, and never mind (I don’t want to give too much spoiler) but jeez Louise no normal person would ever tolerate such poor treatment let alone wait like a lost puppy madly in love of it’s owner. Sorry but I would have given 1.5 star if I can.

Omg I haven't read a book this quick in a while, but I couldn't put this book down. The story had everything love, heartbreak and soo much more.

Caralynne and Blake are great characters I don't want to give any of the story away as it is soo amazingly addictive.

It shows how a connection doesn't always die no matter the time apart, the distance or how much you fight it. I think this book is now my favourite of Stacy's.

I can't recommend this story enough and highly recommend the amazingly talented author.

Brooding Blake Thompson is mysterious and intriguing

The story between Blake and Cara is very strange i don't know whether to strip off or get a blanket, Blake is the new step brother of Cara's best friend. Blake is really draw to Cara but is scared of getting hurt, that he ends up hurting her in the process anyway, Cara doesn't know why Blake is so hot one minute and ice cold the next. This story gives you all the feels

This story is well written. Cant wait to read more by Stacy.

Talk about running hot and cold.. Blake is such a confusing character.. He is so cruel to Cara and the sweet person that she is forgives him. And even five years later he is still doing the same thing to Cara made me want to Smack Blake lol. After all they go through she still saw the good in him... I wished Cara would of made Blake beg more for her forgivness... Made me stay up all night to finish it though lol..

I enjoyed the story of Blake and Cara. From how they forst met to how thir story ended.

I did however feel frustrated at times with both characters. All the back and forth and Blakes temper. I really wanted to reach into the book and slap him bloody silly. Cara seemed like such a push over at times.

All that said I like duo POV as you get to see everyone's thoughts and feelings about the issues at the time.

Looking forward to reading more from Stacy in the future.

This books squeezed my heart and made me smile in the end. Lots of rollercoaster loops, twists and turns but overall, if you’re into angsty romance, you’ll definitely love this book. My con maybe was that I hope the female character made the guy grovel and work for it, but I’m happy overall.
