So inspired by Robin's courage as a person living with cancer, and for being so openly vulnerable in putting her experience "out there" for all the world to see. I loved working with her at Acme, and was happy to have helped her in a small way when even water didn't taste very good. I think that anyone who is going through a similar situation would find its contents invaluable to know that they're not alone in their struggles adjusting to life in their new 'normal'.
What a survival story! Robin utilizes the writing technique of telling her story, supplemented with a personal blog of the entire account she had. You get a sense of where she is now, looking back while having where she was then peppered in.
It is a very intriguing survival story, and I highly recommend to anyone who is due to undergo cancer treatment, as this book also includes not only Robin's story but informational bits and things she had learned along the way that are apparently not made readily available to you early on.
My husband works for Acme Paper in the Richmond office and he told me about Robin and her book. Fast read and I loved her cheerfulness and inspiring quotes. Way to go, Robin!
This was a good one, especially if you had oral cancer and had to have a feeding tube put in. Liked the way the author related her struggles with attending functions where food was involved and how she handled it. The appendices were interesting also
Short and informative and something to really think about: Robin writes "Here is a list of things I will never again take for granted: Eating and Drinking"
