I’ve been hopelessly in love with my best friend for ten years. Not just in love…I’ve saved myself for him.
Now that he’s back in town it’s my chance to finally tell him how I feel. And what better way than to sneak into his cabin at night and go for IT? “I’ve wanted you so badly. I…I’m a virgin and I want my first time to be with you.”
But the moment I tell him my secret and our lips touch I realize…it’s not my best friend I’ve just come on to. It’s his grumpy older brother who just happens to be my new boss. *-*

Alexis Winter is a contemporary romance author who loves to share her steamy stories with the world. She specializes in sexy billionaires, cocky alphas, brooding bad boys and the women they love.
If you love to curl up with a good romance book you will certainly enjoy her work. Whether it's a story about an innocent young woman learning about the world or a sassy and fierce heroine who knows what she wants you're sure to enjoy the happily ever afters she provides.
When Alexis isn't writing away furiously, you can find her exploring the Rocky Mountains, traveling, enjoying a glass of wine or petting a cat.
Romance trope: she loves the other brother Series: Grand Lake Colorado Length: 1362 locations
Plot: Pearl has had a crush on her best friend Trevor for quite a while now and it seems like it might be the time to make a move since he's moving back to their hometown. But for some reason, she keeps getting distracted by his grumpy older brother Blake. Maybe she picked the wrong brother?
Commentary: Poor Pearl was so embarrassing sometimes with her over-the-top crush on Trevor, someone who had never shown her a smidge of romantic interest whatsoever. I can understand why Blake was so harsh with her in one sense, but in another, wow, why so grumpy? I know his girlfriend left him, but so long ago! Anyways, like all Alexis Winters books, I worry about the author - all the characters drink so much throughout the entire book, less in this one than in some others though. I liked this one enough that I've read it twice.
Grammar/formatting: some misspelled words that appear to be typos, enough that another round of proofreading wouldn't go amiss
A Slow Burn That Was Fun To Read What a great novella. A lot of steam, passion, and romance packed into this great book. If you like small-town romances with a slow burn, you'll love this romance. The characters are likable and their chemistry is off the charts. Once I started reading I couldn't put it down. Easy to read in one sitting. I read a free book via the author and voluntarily chose to write a review.
Since returning to her hometown after college Pearl is still looking to make use of her marketing expertise. Whilst working a shift at The Place, Blake comes in and tells her his mom wants to see her after her shift. Heading over to the cabins she's excited to be offered a part-time role redesigning the website and setting up social media accounts etc. Working for her childhood best friend Trevor's family.
Renovating the cabins for the family business is hard enough without having to babysit his younger brother's best friend. Blake is attempting to get everything up and running so he can get back to his construction business. When Pearl asks him about Trevor he is annoyed by the childish/high school games of it all. Confessing that she's loved Trevor forever and wants to hook up with him now that he's single. But why would Blake care if she likes his brother?
Realising that she and Trevor no longer have the same connection they had before college., Pearl finds herself crushing on Blake. But he's been hurt in the past and feels she just rebounding from his brother. Can they work through their miscommunications for a chance at love?
I received this free eARC novel from the author. This is my honest review.
I really enjoyed this novel! I could instantly feel the attraction between Pearl and Blake from the moment they interacted. Pearl's obsession with Trevor was silly and I'm glad things worked out the way they did.
At the beginning, both of these characters were pretty straight forward and said exactly what was on their minds, which was a nice change of pace. But when things started to heat up between them, they started to not be as open about their feelings, which caused the bulk of their issues.
I really loved the overall message of this story and I loved watching them fall for each other. Out of the books from Alexis Winter that I've read, I think this one might be my favorite so far!
Pearl has been in love with Trevor for as long as she can remember. When she finally decides to tell him the truth about her feelings, she goes to his cabin, and, in the dark, lays it all out. The only problem is the person lying in bed isn't Trevor. It's his brother Blake. But what happens when you realize you don't love the person you though you did? And what will happen when the one you do loves thinks you are in love with someone else? Blake is a moody man, but the most loveable guy there is. Pearl and Trevor are great BFFs, but not great as a couple. I love the characters, the story, the chemistry... I couldn't put it down. I received a free copy of this book and this is my honest opinion
I really enjoyed reading about Blake and Pearl. Pearl has had a long time crush on Blake's younger brother. When she hears he is coming home, she asks Blake to put in a good word for her. But as it turns out, Blake and Pearl realize that they have an attraction to one another....an attraction that they can't seem to get enough of. They both have their thoughts about why they can't last, but what they really have are feelings for one another.
Blake and Pearl find love where they least expected, with each other. Blake as know that Pearl as been in love with Trevor, his younger brother, since they were kids. Can Blake really trust that Pearl is over her crush for his brother? Or is he just a way for her to get over Trevor?
Despite some easily fixed grammatical and minor formatting errors, I really did enjoy the story. Would read about the supporting characters if they had their own stories. 3.5 stars, but I like to round up when giving halves.
I was given an arc of this book in exchange for my review.
ARC Review For honest review . when pearl is older she always had a crush on childhood friend travor, but when working for his mother she gets to know blake better travor brother and fire. hot.
This is the first book in the Grand Lake Colorado series. It is the story of contractor Blake Winthrop and his little Brother’s best friend, Pearl Davenport.which brother is meant for her?
Pearl has spent her youth with a crush on Trevor Winthrop even though he left town to go to college and hasn't moved back. His mother gives her a job to help build up her business on line and she needs to work with Blake Trevor's older brother. Pearl seems to notice new things about Blake when she talks to him about her new job for his mother and Blake seems to be seeing her in another light as well. Trevor comes home for a few days and Pearl begins to realize that she is no more than a friend to Trevor but she is beginning to have feelings for Blake. Most of the twists, turns and surprises during this time is that Pearl is having a problem with realizing what is happening to her and accepting how she feels about Blake. Eventually everything comes out and everyone begins to accept the new circumstances and find their happy ending.
Realising Their Feelings: By Korkoi - Pearl has had a crush on Blake’s brother since they were in high school, but one unfortunate mishap makes her realise it was just misplaced infatuation. Blake made the decision to stay away from relationships following his heartbreak, but spending time with Pearl, makes him rethink that decision. This is a beautifully written story, about two people who are scared to acknowledge their feeling for each other, which nearly costs them being together. I really enjoyed the plot, however, there are quite a lot of typographical and grammatical errors, as well as missing words in the book.
Hilarious merry go round. Pearl and Trevor were childhood best friends. But she was confused about her feelings for him. Then there's Blake, Trevor's older brother, whom Pearl is confused about how to think of him.
We learn of their town and family dynamics, fears, overboard attempts to express themselves, growth and what life and love is all about. Enjoy
I really don't like giving 3 star ratings. But this book could have been so much better if it went through some edits. I liked the story even though the girl was really desperate through most of the story. The MMC was a good one and enjoyed his side of things.
But this story has so much potential and could have been a 4 or 5 star read if you can get past the corrections that need to be made.
They have been best friends for years. She thinks that she loves him. However when she sees and spends time with his brother she realizes that she wants him. They are perfect for each other but they have a dispute and it's crazy Loved it
