Daehee's cancer is eating away at him. He has but months to live, so the torch must be passed to an heir. Geunsoo has proven himself, but the newly released from prison Geunwon is the eldest son and a legitimate child. Geunsoo has lost Saeroyi's friendship and also Yiseo's which was more important to him because of his crush for her. At least he is chosen a Daehee's successor, to Geunwon and Minjung's dismay. In revenge, Geunwon hires people to get rid of his brother. Saeroyi steps in to help, but is fatally wounded and ends up in hospital, in a coma.

The hitman Geunwon hired, a man named Gu Beomsoo, is still on the job. His targets are Saeroyi, Geunsoo and Yiseo. Yiseo and Seungkwon provide vital evidence to the prosecutor investigating Saeroyi's assault. This leads to the arrest of Beomsoo's associates. He refuses to go through with the rest of the hit, but Geunwon offers half of the money he promised to have Yiseo kidnapped and brought to him. He now wants to destroy the ones who ruined his life. He orders Geunwon to come to him, but the phone call is heard by Saeroyi instead. The latter isn't fully healed yet, but he heads out to save Yiseo by himself.
