Luke Sutton plans and executes weddings so others don’t have to. He’s come across a multitude of brides, grooms and families who he would happily walk away from, but he’s tougher than that. Even when his worst client, Georgina Nicholls, threatens to make him throw in the towel. It’s only because of Georgina’s single father that he gets through it all. He could never resist the plea of a handsome man.

James Nicholls loves his daughters. However, they are spoiled and ungrateful after being raised by their mother and her high and mighty ways. Nevertheless, he’s happy to pay for their weddings. One down and one to go. And James knows that Luke is the best in the business. That and he makes James feel things he hasn’t experienced in a long time.

Can Luke and James become more than friends? If so, will James’ family interfere and intrude on their budding relationship? Can Luke accept James’ daughters as part of his new relationship? Or will James and his daughters be far too much for Luke to handle?

The silver fox and the wedding planner ! M/M

Oh, yes, the sexy times with these two guys are sizzling.
Luke, 26, and his fraternal twin brother own a successful wedding planning business. Luke is dealing with a horrid bridezilla, but her father, James, 47, is a handsome silver fox Professor. It’s too bad the ex-wife raised the girls to be banshees.
Luke and James begin their sexy scenes when the second daughter wants her wedding, but something is going on with her attitude.
Our men get closer as the planning moves forward. Six months later, the wedding is here, and it comes with a huge twist of events.
Five weeks later, his ex knocks on the door but doesn’t get far. Our men are leaving.
This is low angst, with wonderful, professional men, a cute story and a magnificent love. Enjoy !

Sorry, sorry, sorry, but I hated this story.

So, I’m going to be 46 in October. FORTY-SIX. I guess that is probably considered close to 50 but not close enough as far as I am concerned that I would even say “I’ll be 50 in a few years.” Nope. I can’t imagin me saying that. Who cares and why should I rush my life? Numbers are just numbers.

Obviously not in this book.

I am not old and I’m not going to be old in October. I sometimes, very rarely, will make an ‘I’m old’ reference when discussing my memory, but I don’t really mean it and really, it’s always in reference to books and the bigger issue is how many and how fast I read…but that isn’t the point.

This book is about a 47 year old man. FORTY-SEVEN. Twice in this book he referenced his age and he referenced it like this:

He was going to be pushing sixty in a few years.

I’ll be sixty in a few years, and I’m feeling it.

WHAT IN THE FUCK IS THIS NONSENSE? I honestly had to go back and double check when he made his second reference to being sixty in a few years. Maybe he can’t count? Maybe he is wishing his life away? MAYBE HE’S JUST RUDE AND TRYING TO MAKE ME FEEL OLD. I am insulted by this.

What else? Oh, I seriously hate mean people and truthfully, this book would have been 100 times better had the kids been nice. Writing them the way they were written in this book had me so disgusted I struggled with finishing. Why would I want to read page after page about such terrible people? There was more about them and the ex-wife than there was about the two MCs. It’s one thing to have a mean person who redeems themselves, it is a whole other thing to have three absolutely horrible people be the main focus of a book meant to be a romance. They don’t even call him Dad.

I’m sorry, but parent or not, I would not have put up with that and I would have never given them anything except what they needed to survive. Good parent, right thing to do be damned.

I don’t understand any of the ex-wife storyline. It’s been DECADES that they have been divorced. She cheated on him because he was working his ass off to provide and she was feeling neglected. She then took his kids, went with the guy and then proceeded to erase him from his children’s lives. He still did everything he could to be in their lives but she worked against him the entire time. Again, to the point his kids didn’t even call him Dad. Decades later, rich husband is dead and she is in his face and he lets her. But, the husband I think has only been dead for months. I just can’t figure any of it out. He shouldn’t even talk to her. The kids are grown, there is nothing to discuss. He should hate her. I didn’t get it. I also didn’t get why every time she made some sort of move on him we had to know that he found her attractive and told Luke he felt that way. There were a ton of different instances referencing them getting back together and I don’t understand why??? And again, this was such a huge part of the story! Why?

I didn’t feel any romance. Truthfully, there wasn’t even any time for it with everyone else taking up the entire book.

This was a huge fail for me and the way it ended? It seemed so childish. The more I think about the entire the thing the more angry I get. This was not a fun time.

This was a good enough read most of the time and quite entertaining, but these are my niggles that, in the end, made me say good-bye to this author (for now, anyway):

a) I found the ex-wife a complete caricature as a character.

b) I found the way James dealt with his ex-wife weirdly ambiguous ()

c) The ending was very childish ()

d) The editing I: Throughout the story, there were sentences that sort of summarized what had happened before as if the author thought the reader might have forgotten the (all things considered very, very simple) plot until then. What's with that?

e) The editing II: (In a separate point, because, honestly, this was one of my major issues:) The numbers just didn't add up. James was introduced as a man in his fifties; a couple of sentences further he was made out to be forty-seven and that age was repeated later in the book. But, at the same time, he divorced emotionally from his wife thirty years ago? It was mentioned at least a couple of times that he would soon be sixty?
The only thing that could make sense out of all this to me would be that James' age was originally intended to be fivty-seven, but was later changed to forty-seven; and instead of looking carefully through the book to make sure that it all fits, only the exact age was changed, the whole rest left as it was. This kind of thing truly annoys me because it seems just careless.

As characters, I liked Luke and James well enough, though, so it wasn't a complete fail for me.

Luke and his twin brother, John, have a wedding planning business. They have a gig that is less than ideal. John's off on vacation and Luke must face the very spoiled bride and her mother on his own...well not completely. James is the father of the bride and he has not had a hand in raising his daughters. Used to getting anything they wanted from their stepfather the bride is now blasting her way through her wedding without regards to other's feelings. Luke is drawn to James. The man is kind and sweet, but not push over for his daughters or their mother Getting through one wedding, now Luke is drawn into the other sister's wedding. Neither marriage will last and there is something fishy going on with this last wedding. Contracts, spoiled brats, threats, blackmail, manipulations, poor behavior and two men who must hide their feelings for each other until they get through this hell that is a wedding. Will they make it? A good read. I voluntarily read and reviewed this ARC book.

Thank you for the ARC read, I voluntarily give this book an honest review. As a wedding planner Luke was lucky when he wasn't dealing with a bridezilla. Dealing with this dysfunctional families was an understatement. The only perks of this job was James the bride's father. One wedding down another to go. Just how far was Luke willing to go with the self-entitled Mercer crew? Was James really worth the trouble of dealing with this never ending maddnes?  James may be their father but they was all their mother in the end. With the  ex-wife trying to sabtoge any future relationship James may have, how will Luke fair with the spiteful women in James's life? Wow drama-mama, this mother/daughters due was something else. Great read it just makes you feel for poor James and Luke for all they have to go through.

Oh my. This book is something ells.
It is all about Luke and James finding love amongst all the drama of the weddings of James’ daughters. She and her mother make life for Luke, a wedding planner, a living hell with all their bitchiness and unrealistic demands. If it was not for James, Luke would have thrown in the towel a long time ago. All the drama actually brought those two closer.
This book was a quick and very enjoyable read.

Jerry Cole has written a great book about the beautiful relationship between Luke and James. Their love blossoms against a backdrop of drama with James’ two daughters.
This book is a real page turner; I kept turning the page to see how the drama would play out and wasn’t disappointed.

I highly recommend this book, a story filled with drama and a great romance.

A very enjoyable read, sexy, fun and with a little bit of angst for good measure. This books tells the story of Luke and James and how they fell in love despite everything and everyone getting in the way. I just wish the book was a bit longer so that we could see more of both MCs.
