Becoming a big sibling (sister) is a big deal. It's a very important moment and super exciting. Ashley Mouton speaks from her own experience as she creates this "guide to being the best older sibling ever." She could well have been speaking of my wife and her "little sister". There is a special bond.
This is not a one size fits all book. She has included a variety of scenarios - hospital birth, home birth, and adoption - so regardless of your child's experience they will find something in this book which will help them.
She also moves through the various elements (before, birth, coming home, etc.) which children will deal with as they move through this process. She even includes a part for moving past childhood. The stories are helpful and informative. The introspective questions at the end of each section will allow parents to explore some of the more difficult issues which your child will face.
This is a very important time in the life of your child, and it is helpful to have all the support you can get. Mouton has given you the tools to deal with this time in a creative, orderly, and systematic way. Although there may be some surprises along the way, she has tried to minimize them by helping parents be prepared.
