This is an underrated story featuring a private investigator, Stanley Hastings. He goes about solving the murder of a squeegee guy when he sees that the police is not interested. He applies his innovative skills to find the truth. It was a pleasant change from full length detective novels. The writing is simple and keeps you interested. I will be picking up more of Hall's full length novels soon. It's a shame I came to know about Parnell Hall and his books recently only after his passing, which was mentioned by Harlan Coben in one of his tweets. Check out his hilarious youtube video where he is lamenting about the poor turnout at his book signings. Signing in the Waldenbooks by Parnell Hall
