The kidnap victim is dear to Breeze, but the ransom demand is not for money. The kidnapper is from deep in the past. He’s back to intrude in the life of Breeze. In order to free the hostage, Chinese nationals must be smuggled into Florida at the peak of a viral pandemic that originated in China. After exhausting all legal avenues to end the reign of the leading drug kingpin in the Florida Keys, Breeze takes the reckless route, deciding to end things on his own terms.
I enjoyed this books same as I enjoyed all of Robinson’s books, but on this one I know that Ed is a big supporter of Trump and I resent all of his negativity about anything that is anti Trump. Breeze refuses to wear a mask same as trump and Ed totally bad mouths those that would not open. I wish he would just write his great books and keep his politics out of it
Another fine story of Breeze adventure! Ed Robinson is spot on with Breeze's thoughts on the Chinese Wuhan Flu as well. Keep 'em coming Ed! Great stuff!!
I love the Breeze books and have read them all. I am in a similar age group and moved to Florida to sell boats now that my kids are grown and I really like ready about all of the adventures in the areas that I am now familiar with. I love the writing style and the characters are all excellent. Please keep writing the books!
Poor Breeze! He never seems to have peace for long. At least he didn't directly cause this one. Got to give the guy credit, he is certainly resourceful . Excellent read! I have enjoyed all Ed's writings, but I was heartbroken in the last mountain book. (can't say more as I don't want to be a spoiler) No way any of Ed's books will disappoint. I just wish Ed could write faster ( or I could read slower)
Interesting twist on that Daredevil Breeze recruits another to take the big risk that he usually thrives on.
Note to Ed, Please let Breeze retain his youthful attitude and willingness to take on the big ones. You and I may be getting old but, we live through Breeze.
Once again lots of action and breeze does it again Marie and Jean suffered his presence for a bit breeze for to see his grand kids and bald mark for a slug in his chest ciao from costa Rica and stay safe in florida....
I have read all the breeze books but this one has a very weak storyline and seems to me to be more of a political rant. I enjoyed the earlier books but Breeze has lost his way...
Another great Breeze book. Really let's you know where he stands on current issues, but not a problem when you agree! Can't wait to see what happens next.
Great story!, as usual. This one though, maybe should have been titled "Ranting Breeze". Author Ed seems to be venting through Breeze a high degree of frustration to the mangled COVID response in the US. This would be okay, I guess, but, for me, it distorts the fictional Breeze's character which has been carefully built and strengthened through the dozen+ other Breeze books. In this moment, Breeze can only be understood, perhaps, through a somewhat alcohol infused mist (about which Breeze may be developing an awareness, to Author Ed's credit--he's left a few clues). By the way, it occurs to me that our hero, Breeze, would not leave a review of these books, let alone, download them for his reading pleasure on an e-book. So, in the spirit of the overall true Breeze, we'll just keep an eye on this ranting Breeze as a blip on the Breeze radar screen.

Sorry that I'm leaving this series in the middle. If I'd wanted politics and racism, I'd turn on the news. It's not because I "don't have a sense of humor" that I don't find his incredibly racist names and references funny, it's because of the literal harassment and attacks on people of Asian descent because of them. Both his and the carnival barking clown in the Oval Office attacks are dangerous and unkind.
Now's the time to stop calling these books fiction and file them under the editorial section. What a shame! Up until now, I was able to ignore the author's typos, bad grammar and the inability of his and his editor's ignorance of words such as sic vs sick, for example.
Over it! There are other series and authors who don't feel the need to spew their politics and racism in what's, ostensibly, a work of fiction.
I've been a Breeze fan and will continue. That being said I'm writing a review in December of 2020 so I have the luxury of hind site. We've unfortunately have seen and experienced in our family the lonely deaths due to covid and I am veteran that does not vote for men that describe our military leaders as loosers or f*%k'n pussy's. I would have preferred Breeze stay A-political because it seemed he was driving an agenda. More importantly, I realize this is fiction and I will continue with the next in the series. For now.
As a Midwesterner I can live vicariously - on my boat in the sunny south. I have vacationed often in the areas Breeze takes us to and picture locales and marinas he visits. In fact vacationed several times - with a live aboard in the marina in Sarasota. Including Current events made it even more real. Politics and pandemic - lucky breeze!
I have read everyone of the books on Breeze and have truly enjoyed his adventures. I have also been happy to read some personal or not opinions from Breeze I am happy that someone speaks out about politics right or wrong speak out and up it goes with the character. Will keep reading and enjoying thank you!!
I have read 9 Breeze Books so far and have enjoyed all of them except this one. For a work of fiction there is way too much Politics in here for me. I stopped half way thru. The Pandemic is one thing. But readIng a book about Breezes political views concerning it, is not for me. I am moving on to the next book.
I enjoyed reading Ed Robinson’s books. I almost stoped reading his books when he was praising Trump in one of his books. Then in Reckless Breeze he got political again. I didn’t even finish the book and I’m done! There is enough angst on social media and Facebook, I don’t need it books I’m reading for pleasure.
Breeze pulls another scorched chestnut out of the fire. Hopefully, Bald Mark won't be able to resurrect himself and bring his nasty ass back for another round of shitstorm.
Another great story from Ed Robinson from one of my favorite authors who writes terrific sea adventures. The Skipper Breeze series is always a wild ride.
If I could I would give this a zero. Couldn't finish it. Fiction writers should stay out of politics. What the news brings us is bad enough. We look to Fiction to escape from everything else
