👧🏻MY TAKE;

I tried the free sample on kindle. It had the first story,
DÉJÀ VU by AYAN PAL and o'boy it got me unprepared!!

It got my complete attention and screwed my nerves till the very end!

I looooved the writing style, the choice of words, language, so crisp and to the point.

If you like perfectly done short stories, in horror genre, you would not want to miss this one!

Spooky, scary

Each story brings forth a new dimension of horror. To me horror is part of our daily lives. Like how we can see certain things, there are other beings that we can't see or touch. This is normal for me. So, horror, to me is not scary. I love horror films, and of late, have started reading horror stories too.

Loved each story, especially, Ritu's story stands out. Kudos to all authors.

A range of stories from 11 different authors, of different protagonists and locations, with a single unifying thread running through them; they all deal with the supernatural in all its goosebumpy glory.

For someone who otherwise hates horror, to have actually enjoyed reading the stories in this collection has to be something of a statement.
The book sets the tone from the first story itself, which is by Ayan Pal and makes you check your whereabouts.
I enjoyed reading all the stories but a few stood out for me. The ones by Archana Sarat, Sourabh Mukherjee, Proyashi Barua, Mira Saraf's particularly made me shudder in fright. The stories by Ushasi Sen Gupta, Deepti Menon, Harshali Singh, Anupama Jain, and Bhaswar Mukherjee gave me heebie-jeebies too.

My favourite story from the collection however was the one by Rituparna Ghosh, for it's that unusual combination of romance and horror that makes one scared but also makes one believe in the power of love. It made me feel all mushy and scared at the same time.
This one's definitely a must-read for horror lovers but a great even if you're not.

It was a wonderful read. Ayan Pal's Deja Vu was totally gripping and nailbiting, as was intended. He is a master at weaving words and playing withthe mind. Rituparna Ghosh made me emotional and the romance by Anupama Jain was palpable. The stories had a throbbing life of their own. All in all, it was a potpourri of horror, romance, emotions, revenge.

Absolutely honoured to be even considered for this book! It is simply out of the world pun intended :-)

There are ghosts, spirits, revenge, and events this book explores a wide range of otherworldliness. There are dark motives, altruistic revenges. Right out of the old world is a story of traditional yashaksi and then there is a good old ode to the devil. This book is a perfect collection of good stories of the bad and the ugly!

Readomania book of horror
Rating: 2/5

This is the last of the readomania collections of short stories. This one has 11 horror stories by various authors. Somewhat interesting, not entirely unpredictable. Typical legend based, mostly female ghosts that have been wronged. Might be fun for a novice, definitely not for a seasoned horror fan. Decent, but you won't miss much if you skip.

A great book for beginners in the genre, if you are a pro-horror reader, not so much in that case.
Having said that, the uncomfortable factor is turned high in the stories by Ayan Pal and Mira Saraf.
And beautiful writing style made me enjoy the stories by Ushashi Sen Basu and Sourabh Mukherjee.
A fast read, easily accommodated in a metro ride or lazy afternoon.
