Rendez-Vous: An Invitation to French

Rendez-vous is a first-year French text designed to promote proficiency in the four skills: listening, reading, speaking and writing as well as culture. The text gives students an opportunity to learn how to carry out everyday tasks in French and to become acquainted with various aspects of French culture. This text uses a communicative approach where language is taught in culturally appropriate contexts. Emphasizing vocabulary before grammar, grammar within a cultural context, and French as it is spoken in authentic, everyday situations, Rendez-vous continues to be a favorite among both instructors and students nationwide.
