A wonderful book in which is a mixture of both written and non-written words. The first few pages provide children with the opportunity to think creatively about trying to determine the future of the book. The cook is based on a child finding excuses for being unable to return a book in which the teacher Miss Folio has lent the child. The layout is based with the left side page displays a picture of Miss Folio every month while on the right side of the page is of the child explaining why he is unable to return the borrowed book. In the end, the book is sent as a gift from the child to Miss Folio through the post along with a Christmas card. Overall it is a wonderful book that children can relate to as there are many excuses that the child has told, the children find that they can relate as this encourages them to discuss their experiences.
