Fast Paced, Explosive
Oh wow. This book picks right up where the last book ended and it's full steam ahead. Good luck trying to breathe as Kate and crew go from one explosive situation to the next with plenty of surprises along the way. I loved that edge of my seat, anxious feeling. I will say that reading this book in the midst of a pandemic was a bit too real for comfort. Hello deadly virus. 😱😷 This book is exciting and I had a hard time putting it down. I can't wait for the next book!!

Kate searches for Nigel (dad told her to go seek him out) only to find him dead from virus. NOS written all over his room.
Team discovers NOS is basically world-wide AGI force. They control everything. Control Search which is basically google and it allows them to push their agenda.
AGI also pushed for Oliver Strands to become president. He works for AGI as a politician.
Lena and Liam is busted out of Montana AGI and is now on CIA team.
Biaraham also but is he a double agent?! Helped CIA but then returned to AGI.
NOS has been making personal viruses based on people’s DNA. DNA gotten from DNA company (who is owned by NOS)
They are searching for virus lab.
Kate gets captured and runs into Ritcher (recruited in AGI same time as her). She eventually gets busted out but had to go thru some things.
Jake and Kate’s relationship blooms. They falling in love. I feel like this novel pushed the romantic narrative too much. And there was alil too much self-pity from Kate.
Kate gets injected with virus.
They end up finding the lab where two scientists were working for NOS.
Female scientist makes virus. Male made antidote and backup vaccine just in case. (He acted on his own)
They kill female. Male gave them antidote and vaccine.
Mentioned the Board of NOS. (Leaders. One from each continent except Antarctica so 6) This was new info for Kate
Johan (male scientist) ends up shooting himself because he didnt want NOS to find him again so they can make him make the viruses again.
They also find Oliver Strands’ goddaughter (Liv Barker) in lab. She was secretly being kept alive by Johan (kept giving her antidote)
Liv was posed to die and her sisters would have been used against Oliver once he becomes president. To keep him in line.
Oliver catches wind of this from Valentina. His “wife” who has high-position in AGI.
He gets a new lease on life and seems determined to use his presidency to take them down.
CIA enlisted Vinny (worked with Tracy at Search. Tracy was murdered. Was former employee at Search but left due to Search’s nefarious activities. She had started an anti-Search blog that was gaining attention and fanfare)

Another great book
This is just a great series. To review this in any detail would give away spoiler after spoiler so I’m not going to do that.
This series is essentially a techno-thriller series. It’s rather different than the ones I’ve read. It s full of original ideas interesting twists and turns. It’s full of wonderful characters that I just want to read more and more about.
If you like the techno-thriller genre get these books and read them you will not be disappointed!

Wow! This is a fast paced continuation from where Ten Seconds to Dead concluded. I was totally engrossed in following the different view points (which I was thankful for). It was interesting to see where each person was and how they interpreted their role in the bigger picture. There were so many relevant things happening that I can absolutely see happening in our current world. I cannot wait to read book 3!

I have been waiting for this sequel! I absolutely loved the first one and this follow-up did not disappoint! L.A. Clayton has delivered a well-written story filled with tension and action and featuring a cast of characters that I wish I could have a beer with. Kate Edison is a genius and a bad ass but she has a vulnerability that makes her larger than life qualities believable and relatable. I cannot wait to read more by this author!

Book 2 is just as good!
Action packed, had me on the edge of my seat. The characters are still great, the story is still super addicting, and I can't wait for the third book to come out. I highly recommend the series, but if you're like me, don't start reading until all the books in the series are out. I hate waiting! L. A. Clayton is a wonderful writer and a great storyteller. This series could go on and on and on, and it would still be too short.

Excellent writing! The description takes me everywhere Kate and the rest of the group are. I loved that we pick up right where the last book left off. The continuing suspense keeps you on your toes and guessing the whole book. The CIA group is intelligent and resourceful and I can't wait to see how the story ends!

Wow, LA Clayton has done it again! I wouldn't have guessed it by the beginning of the book, but I was on the edge of my seat for the rest of the book. Kate and the group of actual CIA agents are trying to figure out what the AGI is trying to do and prevent them from doing it, of course. Great adventure!

Another Winner!
Great continuation of a great series. This characters are believable and while there was a paucity of action compared to the first book, the story had more than enough tension to replace the action. It is interesting to note that there is enough complexity to continue this series ad infinitum.

Another thrilling read from L. A. Clayton. I could not put this book down. Fast moving. Always exciting! On the edge of my seat wondering what adventures and trouble Kate and her entourage will get into next!

WOW!! This is the second book in the Ten Seconds series and picks up right after the previous book, Ten Seconds to Dead. You'll need to read that one first to really understand who the characters are and what's going on. I really like this series but find the books hard to review because if I say too much I'll give things away.
I'll just say that it was a thrilling ride till the end. How scary is it to think that a virus could be geared toward a specific DNA? Reading this book during the Covid pandemic made it a little more realistic. I really like the different points of view because it allows the reader to see what that character is thinking. Thankfully the third book in this awesome series is already published so I don't have to wait to read it.

A Great Edge of Your Seat Continuation
This is a good series, and a good second book. The story is disturbing because it is so possible for it to be actually happening now. I like that the subject matter is delivered as a fictional story, but the possibility that many of the things mentioned in this book are actually happening in the world today is staggering. Take the DNA and Search aspects of the story are actually happening now. Makes you want to move to a remote place 'off the grid.'

Wow!! Best book I've read in ages, don't miss out!
A perfect example of "don't judge a book by it's cover"! I decided to try this series based on the rating fully expecting a simple easy read and boy was I wrong. This series is fantastic so far! Lots of twists and turns, very well written and so incredibly interesting, kind of reminds me of early Patterson . I can't wait to read the next one!

Book #2 in a series, Just loved the first one and this one is good as well. This was written in 1999 but when read today is almost realistic! (other then a secret agency being involved). It has a lot of action in it and intrigue! It is a fast paced book and is easy to follow.

This is the 2nd book in the series "ten seconds" I loved this story plot. Kate Edison is a covert CIA specialist. The CIA agency is trying to take down a shadow government or a alternate government that is infiltrating's every agency in the real government. It has a lot of twist and turns, and is a real page turner. I would recommend the whole series !!!

Like the first book it took me a few chapters to get into it, but once I got into it I couldn't put the book down. The story was easy to follow, but kept you guessing. I loved the character development and hope there is another book coming.

I read this book after immediately finishing “Ten seconds to Dead”, I am hooked.
I wasn’t sure how LA Clayton planned to “top” the first, but she managed!

Kate, Jake and the CIA crew are up to their necks in trouble, and the AGI is far from backing down. And the many contemporary issues and occurrences are uncanny. Woo-Hoo!

Very good read. I liked it when heros outmaneuvered AIG. I was upset when Kate always separated herself from teammates and suffered greatly for it. She definitely confirmed fact of Dumb Blonde when she let her emotions rule her head. Not once but over and over.

Excellent book. Nice sequel to her first book. I like how she set the next book up at the end.
I enjoy her writing, but for me she has a bit too many feelings and too much romance. But then again, I'm a guy. :)

Second book as good as first
Clayton has a real gift, since her personal story is that she got this idea from a dream and decided to write it. Few others grab my attention from the start but she has “it”.

Fast Paced
A super fun read. I stayed up way late at night to finish this. It's written well and you are right with the protagonist in the whole situation. You feel her thrill, her dismay , her pain and fear. A definite good read.

Excellent, just, wow! So much action, adventure, intrigue and excitement. Fabulous characters, awesome storyline and excellent premise. This is a fantastic series written by a very talented author.
