As a Navy brat, Renee lived on three continents before her family settled in Virginia. She currently resides in Southwest Florida with her partner, Pam, and their poodle, Sabrina. Renee works and plays in the swamp, where she enjoys wildlife photography, kayaking, and hiking. Even though Renee has been paid to do all sorts of jobs, ranging from dental assistant to bartender, data entry clerk to maintenance worker, and field sampler to pet-sitter, she insists she’s only had one job—writer—and all the rest has just been research.
Great book and great series. The bonus short story at the end was awesome. It was nice to revisit characters from the previous two stories and get to know new characters. Get out your tissues...I practically read this book in one sitting. Highly recommended!
One thing to say. Go get this book. MacKenzie has created a fabulous world that makes me think more about the current political atmosphere. The author draws you into the world of New America with an abundance of creativity. No spoilers, but I nearly broke my rule with this one. I wanted to share some of the best things. So let me just simply say, I loved it and was totally surprised in the last chapter. That’s all you get.
The whole series was fantastic. If you are looking for something with all the feels, check out the series. Each book will give you a unique experience. Just sayin’.
I really like Misha's character from the intro in the previous book and so was expecting a great story to evolve but unfortunately I didn't read excitement and adventure but mostly a couple coupling a lot and befriending a bear. I got bored a lot and while the ending to their coupling was sad and sweet, I must say the added story on Emily actually gave me the much needed excitement.
