Dupree, a middle-aged man with a peculiar fetish, is whisked out of his private existence into a government conspiracy. Along the way to solving the mystery, he'll encounter UFOs, a conspiracy theorist, a shady senator, hostile FBI agents, and, possibly, romance. Tentacle is a funny, irreverent sci-fi satire that will keep you entertained until the very end.
I think the cover is great and I can see HP Lovecraft fans enjoying this more than I did. On the whole Tentacle is pitched as a humorous book and I think the comedy fell flat for me. Without any plot spoilers the leading characters are such misfits that they can walk away from their lives and nobody will miss them. They came off as two dimensional to me, and Dupree the lead was hard to root for. I found the bunker reveal hard to swallow, as the plan seemed to endanger random civilians. I also thought the epilogue didn't add anything to the book. It's a quick read and quite graphic at times.
