Shawkat Osman (Bengali: শওকত ওসমান; Sheikh Azizur Rahman; 1917 – 1998) was a Bangladeshi novelist and short story writer.Osman's first prominent novel was Janani. Janani (Mother)is a portrait of the disintegration of a family because of the rural and urban divide. In Kritadaser Hasi (Laugh of a Slave), Osman explores the darkness of contemporary politics and reality of dictatorship.

কী দুর্দান্ত ও রোমাঞ্চমাখা কিশোরকাহিনি 'ওটেন সাহেবের বাংলো'। ২০১০ সালে স্কুল লাইব্রেরি থেকে নেওয়া বইতে শওকত ওসমানের অনবদ্য লেখাটি পড়ি। তখন মনে হয়েছিল, এই লেখা বিশ্বমানের। খুব ভালো লেগেছিল। স্কুলে থাকতে অনেকবার পড়েছি।

শওকত ওসমান কেন ছোটোদের নিয়ে বেশি লেখেননি তা নিয়ে অনুযোগ রইল।

যারা পড়েননি, তারা পড়ুন। কিশোরমন নিয়ে পড়বেন। দেখবেন মুগ্ধ হয়ে গেছেন।
