Fun illustrated short kids book. Benny has a pet shark (the kind that doesn't need a pool) and posts a video online to try and prove this to a friend. Being famous isn't everything he thought it would be, but who knows, maybe a get rich quick scheme will go better?

Miss 6 and I like to explore different books and authors at the library, sometimes around particular topics or themes. We try to get different ones out every week or so; it's fun for both of us to have the variety and to look at a mix of new & favourite authors.

Benny McGee teaches he shark friend a trick and posts the video online. After millions of views, he becomes famous. For me there was too much talk of internet fame, money, and behaviors of famous people to feel like this is something I want my kids reading on repeat. My 5.5 year old is enjoying this as a quick chapter book she can read herself, which is perhaps the only reason I haven't immediately returned it to the library.

Benny's friend, Dewely Hill, still doesn't believe benny about knowing a great white SHARK named Mr. Chompers.
Benny wants Dewely to believe him but Dewely doesn't. One day Benny decides to prove him
w-r-o-n-g. Benny uploads a video of him and uploads it. Although Benny diden't expect for the video to go viral! Benny and Mr. Chompers become famous! at first its really fun to be popular but then they find out being famous is tricky.
