Jeffrey Winslow (Layla’s husband) was chained to a chair beaten & water boarded. A broken nose & a few missing teeth, his male model days were over. Layla Winslow (Jeffrey's wife, former Ms. Albany) lying on the floor wasn’t in any better shape. She was sedated. They own 2 companies in the Bahamas & 1 in Grand Cayman. They also own/run Golden Sun Living old-folks’ homes in 3 South East states. There is only 1 option for the Winslow’s. Run the finest assisted living facilities in the south. Dennis Trunk told him if there is a 1 complaint at any of your facilities your dead.

An awesome book cover, great font & writing style. A very professionally written thriller book. It was extremely easy for me to read/follow from start/finish & never a dull moment. There were no grammar/typo errors, nor any repetitive or out of line sequence sentences. Lots of exciting scenarios, with several twists/turns & a great description list of unique characters, settings, facts etc. to keep track of. This could also make another great thriller movie, or better yet a mini TV series. There is no doubt in my mind this is an extremely easy rating of 5 stars.
Thank you for the free author; BookFunnel; PDF; book. Tony Parsons MSW (Washburn)
I read the first book, and then bought the rest of the series. After the first book, I thought I was looking at another “Repairman Jack” by F. Paul Wilson, or another “Travis McGee” by John D. McDonald; but on STEROIDS... I hardly ever get excited or hopeful, but I was with regard to the series. The author took a character and plot and made it into something great, but then book by book he threw it all away. Now I’m just disappointed and depressed that he had something going for him and mismanaged it into nothing. In the 4th book, I think the author tried too hard to preach principles on racism and homophobia; as if he was trying to impress upon his readers that both are bad. He took it to the extreme so that it was both boring and just page filler. Plus, I detest authors who use a fiction platform to try and convey their beliefs about sex, religion, and politics. They should keep a focus on the storyline; which in this case the ending was muddied. I met a lot of interesting characters along the way and was disappointed when a few were killed off; especially in the last book. So my ratings mirror how I felt about, all 4 books; from the greatest for #1 to the worse for #4. I’ll consider giving this author another chance by reading more of his work; but it definitely won’t be anytime soon. My suggestion would be to read the reviews before purchasing any of his other works, as that is my plan going forward. Such a disappointment. :-(
An amazing read in my opinion. One would think that the author had experience as a member of a motor cycle gang Plenty of action, humor and satire all in one book. It dully captivated me from beginning to end.Trunk is a so called psychopath and helps those who desire some unethical extractions. He works with a local leader of a motor cycle gang called Art.Trunk has his own dem0ns but while working for others ,they are placed at the back of his mind. The gang is dealing in drugs and other gangs want into the action. However; Art has his hands full with his own people so the path Trunk has to take to assist Art is very dangerous and not all is above board.
Trunks wife has her father in a nursing home. He is being mistreated. Trunk convinces the owner to clean up his act and treat everyone with the care and respect they deserve. The owner and his wife, the Winslows, have only one chance to survive. By the end of the book, the Winslows have screwed up, and don't get a second chance. Trunk is able to fake his death and start over with a new identity. However, his friend Morrie Rabinowitz, FBI special agent is killed and Trump is going to avenge the death
Maybe Trunk isn't all psychopath after all. Still satire is clearly the name of his game. Perhaps the Trunk improvement program that Emmie started is working? Another great story as Trunk does his best to avoid becoming a dead end. His love life is going great and he's even learning to sail. The cops are still after him, still trying to frame him but that is part of avoiding capture.
Dennis Trunk needs to disappear. He is targeted by the police and the cartel — they both want him dead. Meanwhile, his neighbors at the marina — Archie and Claire — seem to have secrets of their own and are under investigation by their former employer — the IRS. A wonderfully complex plot, a roster of intriguing characters, and a boatload of uncertain loyalties combine to make this an outstanding entry in the series. Highly recommend!
I love this guy! His writing just flows. It's so easy to read since you get so absorbed by the story! Dennis Trunk...excuse me...Rod is the best good/crazy/criminal guy I've ever come to know thru writing. Excellent book! The whole series is excellent!
This is my fourth book in less than a week by this Author. At first it was nice to read, but now it has become a compulsion! I have more pinned up as well. Steve has a twisted mind that I can identify with. I think Trunk is losing his touch, maybe, some he is now married. I look forward to the next chapter in his life!
I must like long-winded stories with well developed characters that sometimes feel as though they are going in circles when in reality it's more like circling sharks-eventually they come around and someone dies. The editing is thin, but the plot is thick. At times I can imagine the author sitting in his boat doing the things Trunk (MC) does. Working on his boat, not the other things, I hope.
UNIQUE CHARACTERS IN AN EVER EVOLVING, COMPLEX AND DANGEROUS STORY. INTENSE AND INTRIGUING IT WILL PUT YOU AT THE EDGE OF YOUR SEAT FROM BEGINNING UNTIL THE SURPRISE ENDING. RECOMMENDED FREE FROM THE AUTHOR, THIS IS MY HONEST REVIEW.
