Buddy and his friends face the multiple problems of contemporary life. They are beset with toothaches, must deal with money or the lack of it, cope with insidious headaches, need cars, fall in and out of love, and need to work. They traipse about their lives showing, at times, the 'oxymoronic' aspects of our society. They are good and bad, smart and dumb, weak and strong, just like you and I. Buddy, a Professor of Economics, solves the budget deficit problem, saves his boss from being clobbered by the Mafia, tries to convince his lady friend to marry him, runs an election campaign, and copes with the challenges of Duckbill University's Economics Department.
