I've read the previous 'Mildred' books, and G-Ma doesn't disappoint this time. We're out to sea, as Mildred's boss sends her on a cruise and she runs into old friends--who are there to see an old friend off, as it were--human trafficking, and the Girl Scouts...and I'll leave it up to the reader to see which of the latter is more dangerous.

Fast-paced with Ms. Kief's trademark wit, this is a good read.

Recommended for readers of any age.

Book 4 of this series felt like one put a pot of water on the stove, turned it to high, watched it steam, then bubble, then boil. And it kept boiling. What a fun story. Toni Kief is a gifted writer and Mildred a fabulous protagonist.

Shipshape!

Mildred Petrie, aka G-ma, undercover security septuagenarian at Ivory Winds Casino, embarks on an all-expenses-paid Caribbean cruise with three out of four longtime friends. Courtesy of the casino, it’s a combination working vacation to scout out an investment opportunity for Ivory Winds, and to scatter Janice’s ashes at sea.

What ensues delights Mildred’s diehard fans as she steps up her game to track a suspected pedophile on the ship, and in the process, all pertinent hands on deck—Bea, Susan, Officer Buza, Girl Scout Troop 442, and her FBI contacts uncover an operation involving the trafficking of guns, drugs, and explosives.

Witty repartee, the dispelling of old-lady stereotypes, elements of danger, and forging new friendships keep the pages turning in this highly entertaining crime fiction.

A shout-out to those five girl scouts who are tough cookies in this shipshape novel worth booking passage.

Really an excellent read if you like to be stressed, and read for ever!! I thought it would never end....the story is great, obviously a LOT of research went on to write the book....but I just got tired of reading and being on the edge all the time.
I finally gave up and went to the last 2 pages and called it quits.
I read for pleasure and to relax, sorry, you can't do that with this book....too much to keep up with, story line and people and conversations and on and on......
I have more of this authors books but not sure I will read in the year 2020....I read to relax and enjoy myself and I just didn't get that from this book....

A really good book

I love these books, I have read them all. Mildred is in her seventies and goes undercover security a Casino. One of her friend dies and Mildred and two other friends Susan and Bea go on a cruise courtesy of the Casino she works at. They want her to look around before they decide if they want to buy into cruises. Whilst on the ship they save a young girl from a paedophile predator, they become entangled with some girl scouts and bring down a lot of mob activity causing lots of arrests. These books are quite action packed and I hope there will be more.

Mildred is back and this time her boss sent her on a cruise. Instead of a business/vacation trip with her girlfriends, she, her friends, and a Girl Scout Troop get into a dangerous spying/crime adventure against an evil man involved in human trafficking. Throughout all of this is light-hearted and humorous moments too, which is Author Kief's trademark. I recommend this series for those who love adventure and giggling.

I have to say Mildred is a fascinating character and all her friends. The story is an excellent read and beautifully written by the author Toni K Kief. Mildred is an undercover security agent with many good instincts or woman intuition. Her friend's loss makes her go on a cruise to honor her, and the adventures begin with crimes, plots, twists, humor, drama, and action—a fast-paced page-turner. You can't go wrong with this story. I highly recommend this captivating book.

Mildred’s boss comes thru with a week vacation for the three woman, a beautiful place to scatter the ashes of Janice. They never really knew what Mildred’s job was. She also has a nose for trouble, wondering about the questionable guy on the cruise. She soon finds her self doing some undercover work to find out. These are delightful to read and about her friends.

A wonderful, fun summer read!

This is my first Mildred book but it reads like a stand-alone book. I really enjoyed the protagonist: smart, kind, and with just a little snark. The humor helped leaven a serious subplot, for an engaging overall read. I loved seeing an older woman in a role that was more than mentor or grandmother!

I love Toni Kief's writing style. It is suspenseful and adventurous but also there are many funny moments that make her books super enjoyable to read. Mildred is an amazing heroine, her girlfriends are also very interesting characters and the case they have to solve is engaging. Overall, exciting book. I recommend it.

I heard “Not Like Us” in my head!

what do do on a cruise full of Girl Scouts and one weirdo? luckily, Mildred & her own crew, Bea and Susan, are in the house! I got Helen Hayes winning the Best Supporting Actress Oscar for Airport from Mildred. she really knew how to maneuver under the cover of age. just proves that as long as your faculties don’t go, you lose little.

Mildred moves out of the casino as she takes a cruise with her oldest friends. Add in Girl Scouts and once again Mildred and her cohorts save the day.
