There’s an old quote that goes, “What hurts more than losing you is knowing you’re not fighting to keep me.” Kenya Ross and Trevonte “Dread” Ross are the Miami couple that everyone would consider “relationship goals.” The couple has been together for fourteen years,, and as deeply as they love each other, they just can’t seem to get it right. Kenya is one of the top real estate agents in Miami, Florida, and her job it takes up a lot of her time, making her unintentionally slack on her motherly and wifely duties. Trevonte owns soul food businesses throughout Miami, Los Angeles, and Atlanta, but he still manages his time to be there for his wife and children. In this marriage, we will see firsthand all the curve balls that this couple will go through. The pressure of balancing work and family causes Kenya to do the ultimate thing that could end her marriage. Find out if this love is even worth fighting for. Will this beautiful couple who share children and love be able to overcome the hardships that will be thrown their way?
Diamond that was so good.Rendell wasn't a friend to Kenya that heifer was a snake and jealous of her best friend and going behind her fooling with her exes. I was glad that Dread only let her give him oral sex he shouldn't have taken it that far but he did. Kenya wasn't squeaky clean in all this she did kill his baby I thought he was gonna hurt Kenya he was so mad at her and Renell thought he was going to run to her when it was all said and done. I don't know what made Jamal think that Kenya was going to leave Dread for his ass I was glad she put their asses to sleep permanently.
OMG what a ending I can't believe her best friend Rennell betrayal was deep who does that.
OMG Kenya and Dreads story was excellent never a dull moment. Kenya was a strong independent hard working woman her character was definitely feisty and strong-willed mother, sisterhood friend, didn't take any mess from her husband. Loved her family and best friend fierce with body and soul. Disloyalty and so disrespectful on so many levels. When Rennell set-up Kenya at the club to be raped by her ex-boyfriend when he put the date rape drug GHB in her drink I was thru with that hoe. What kind of friend does this to your best friend who needs friends. So jealous and hateful of your best friend you would stoop so low to sabotage her by debilitating sending a text about a abortion a personal choice it so lines you just don't cross. I'm glad she let her father becomes apart of her life he missed 32 years of her life. I loved the relationship and respect her husband and family.
I loved this standalone because it had a lot of real situations in here that most people go through. This is a prime example why you really can't trust females especially when it comes to your man/husband. The person you thought was your friend was really someone that envied you and couldn't stand you and probably would have stopped at nothing to destroy you. I applaud Dread and Kenya for sticking together because it showed a lot about their love and how the would stop at nothing to get it right and fight for them. Diamond you did great and I really enjoyed reading this
I'm so happy Kenya and Dread decided to fight for their marriage. Man that Renell is definitely the type of friend you don't want to have. She was to scandalous and for what, over something that happened 14 years ago. I'm mad Dread kept that situation between him and Renell a secret but glad Kenya a was able to move past it. I love that she finally found her father and his wife was a trip, I hope he had a prenup lol. This was a good book that shows things married couples go through and some decide to call it quits or some decide to fight for their marriage like they did.
Loved this standalone from beginning to the very end. It was so realistic and believable and held my attention and wouldn't let go. Storyline was really good and it flowed so smoothly that I loved the characters. It had alot of twist and turns that made it an interesting read. Throw in all the lies, betrayals and jealousy kept me wondering what's happening next. So glad the Keyna and Dread finally got it together, cause they both had issues. I loved the fact that they stick together and wouldn't nothing stop their love and fight for it. As always Diamond Johnson job well done. #143
Man I loved Kenya's character... she had her own and didn't take no mess from Dread. They both made mistakes but they worked through them because their love was just that strong. Now that damn Renell just really got on my nerves because she was jealous of her friend. How can she honestly say that Dread was hers first but was getting it in with Jamal back in the day. They both owed Kenya loyalty but they both didn't care. At least Dread tried to right his wrongs but not those two. Jamal not even worth a sentence. I really enjoyed this story!!!
This was a really good book. Man that darn Renell was something else. All those years she was jealous and mad at her bestfriend and she could've been happy as well. Sad but she got what she deserved. I love me some Trevonte but he was wrong for putting Kenya through hell for the abortion knowing he was doing dirt and keepin secret's. Jamal was just crazy that's all I gotta say about him... Like you and Kenya were kids when y'all dated, such an idiot. Great book!
This book was awesome. I loved that Kenya wasn't a push over with her husband. Even though he cheated before and with Renelle she stood up to him. Chicks like Renelle are the worst, jealous of you but want to be around you. I'm so glad Trevonte put her in her place and let her know he wasn't playing her game. Although Renelle and Jamal deserved it, I don't think Kenya would have risked her freedom for them. I didn't agree with that part and are we supposed to act like we can kill people and nothing happens.
DIAMOND YU HAVE DONE IT AGAIN ! this book was good as heck. from the beginning i knew i wasn’t going to like Renell. her character just gave off bad vibes and she was just a bad person. Dread and Kenya were meant to be together and i was glad that they got back on track but when she found out about Renell i thought she was gonna kill him too lol. i’m glad she allowed her father and sister into her life. all in all i loved this book
This was a good stand alone which isn't necessarily common for this author to write and she usually has series. I hate that they're never properly edited though and in this one, Dread was even called Desmond (a character from another one of her books). I'm a fan of this author and most of her books are 5 star reads for me, but at this stage in her popularity, it's aggravating that the books are always poorly edited. 4 stars for me.
This was the best stand alone book I've read hands down. It's take true love to realize everything that glitter ain't gold. There's no such thing as friends because somewhere down the Line there's alwaYs a envious spot and eventually ital rear it's ugly head. I'm happy they pulled together and came out on top. That's a bond I'll fight for myself when those time comes. Great read!!
I loved the book from beginning to end!!!!! Like it was the perfect story about marriage. What looks perfect from the outside is always not perfect on the inside. I thought the love that Kenya and dread shared was so dope. I was like so sad at one point because I really thought it was the end for them. I def jumped for joy when Kenya finally saw renell for who she really was. Great standalone by diamond!
This was a beautiful story. I enjoy reading books about spouses willing to fight to keep their marriage together in spite of their issues.
I was a bit puzzled about Jamel character. He and Kenya dated when they were teenagers, 13 & 16 years old. All of a sudden he returns claiming his love as if they really have a serious relationship . Hell who finds true love at age 13 and 16. Thats the experiment age.
Well all I can say She did warn each and everyone that she would kill behind her husband and kids. Guess Renell thought she was exempt THE RESULTS PROVE Kenya doesn't make idle threats and she won't Hesitate to POP YA LOL. Awesome job Diamond this book was amazing and should be one the Big Screen
True love is definitely worth fighting for. There are definitely ups and downs in a marriage and you have to be strong to survive them. This story was definitely a great example. This story also showed that not everyone os your friend. Renell was a terrible friend. She was very delusional. So was Jamal. This is by far one of my favorites!
I didn’t expect anything less than what diamond dishes out in this book. She is definitely one of my favorites and this book was nothing but love. I want to fight Renell. But truth is it’s really some “friends” out here like her. I’m just glad Kenya and dread made it through.
Renell was just nasty. How she going to talk about a sister code when she was the one breaking it. Glad she got put in her place. Jamal should of stayed far away. Dread pissed me off the most. How can he get mad at Kenya when he was living foul his self. Kenya forgave him to easily. Mario needs a book.
This was so freaking good! It took forever but Kenya finally found out the truth about her fake bestie. Renell was the worst kind of enemy bc she was the ppl that knew all Kenya secrets and she was considered family. The whole time she's a snake and wanted everything Kenya had mainly her husband.
This book was so good. When I say I hate Renell that’s an understatement. I can’t believe she hated her “best friend” that much. I so love Dread. I’m so glad him and Kenya fought for each other. This is definitely a must read. One of best standalone I’ve read....Diamond you never disappoints me. Great job...#143
OMG i wish there was a part 2. I love Kyna & Dread. This was such an amazing story which felt so real. I am so glad that Rendall met Karma because i wanted to jump in there abs beat her down. Jamal, the only thing to say about him is pitiful. I am so happy for Kyna that she finally know what family is. And Ms. Nia, you go girl!!! Great read
Kenya and Renell, friends till the end or not? With a friend like her you definitely didn't need any new one's. I wondered throughout the first part of the book the characters weren't added in, now I see with Renell being so messy there was no room. Dread loved his family and the way Kenya ignored him for work she was a very lucky woman he stAyed. Good read
I loved how dread loved his wife so very much. He was for the most part faithful and always loyal to her and their children. I’m glad everything worked out for their happily ever after. Once Renelle and Jamal we’re gone everything else fell into place. I loved the story. Maybe another book about them and when the kids are grown.
Thus book was everything true love and happiness represents. I love how Dread loved on his wife and children. Always know who you calling a friend because most likely they are your enemy and Ranell should her hate for Kenyatta from start to finish. But this was an amazing read
I’m glad that the both Kenya and Dread really put their all into their marriage. Her dad was exactly what she needed. Its nothing worst than when the one you will ride for is secretly plotting and hating on you.....
With a friend like Renell who needed enemies. Kenya had a great husband and she definately wasnt treating him like she should be. I cant believe she had an abortion behind his back like that. But im glad that they worked it out and made it through. Great Job as always.
The book was great to read and I was suprise by the twist and the turns. The only negative thing would be that the book went too fast sometimes! I enjoyed reading this book and hopefully in the future you can write a spin-off about Zion their daughter!!!
Dread wanted k to be honest why couldn't he be honest with her. Rendell from the start wasn't k friend. K gave her dad another chance but it was wrong how she had to live but at the end happy after ever for all at the end. I like more books by Diamond good author
Sooooo love this book. That damn renell boy I tell you. And then Jamal they deserve one another. But I always believe that what's done in the dark will come to the light. Glad dread and Kenya worked through their problems.
I love black love and a strong alpha male! Dread and Kenya did not play when it came to their family. Though all the drama, you could tell the love was genuine. Great read.
