She may be a pretty schoolgirl, but she's more dangerous than anyone can imagine.Mia Jennings isn’t a normal girl. She knows there’s something different about her because she keeps seeing things. That would be fine but she just wants to be normal.
But what is normal?
Trying to learn more about her powers, she fights in a tournament. Some believe she’s an easy target, a nobody, someone who will just lay down and die. They couldn’t be more mistaken.
Now, Mia’s on a journey to learn about her powers. She’s not keen on the idea, but her attitude might just help her survive the challenges thrown her way. Factor in a fae bounty hunter and a cute boy supporting her, she might just have enough friends at her side to learn how to use her natural gifts and discover the truth about who she is.
They wanted a fight? Mia’s gonna give them one.
But can she fight hard and last long enough to learn what she needs to?

Mia is excited about her trip to China, but a shocking change in her life was completely unexpected. A new book about the paranormal realm, especially the fae, coming winter a new perspective. It’s interesting seeing the author’s perspective on other mystical creatures, and I like Mia as a main character.
The story develops well, and we see Mia progress amazingly as she learns more about herself and how to sue magic. Seeing the others grow as well adds to the overall development.
A fantastic trilogy that you will love... Wonderful characters and plot... A young girl catapulted into a world so different from what she knows ... Magic, faes, vampires, shifters... So in a few days, she finds herself from being a normal girl to being a halfling and change all her life... Villains, danger, fun and friendships... I recommend this trilogy to all that love fantasy and mystery... I'm looking forward to read the future story... there are so many questions, suspense...
Going the series continues with tales of the five at the University! Many questions left unanswered, about Mia's and Vivi's fathers for instance. While I've find the cursing on the KGU go he it outrageously funny, I've dead some of Michael's go's that are just as humorous without the cursing. Being that this book was about teens, I think it wouldn't have got in with the out as all as when Bethany Ann would drop a few F Bombs. I thoroughly enjoyed this book and finished in just a could of says, reading and not being able go out down except when sleeping! Will he keeping a watch it for more stories about the Far Princess!!😁🤓
Overall: 4 stars The Portal of Chance: 5 stars The Forbidden Portal: 4 stars The Emerald Portal: 4 stars
A good series which introduces a setting and a lively set of characters. These characters go through some amazing situations and come out better than they were before. Occasionally, the writing style becomes a bit pedantic but that doesn't detract over much. The series takes the primary characters through three high school years but leaves a lot that, at least I hope, might be covered in future stories.
Action-packed. Easy-to-read. Entertaining. Great world building. Haunting. Informative. Scary. Tragic. Twisted. Unpredictable. Whimsical. Wonderful characters.
This is a new genre for me. Thanks to Jenna Hendricks! When I was in my teens and 20's I only read Stephen King books. Now I am considerably older and find I enjoy more of a less gorey style of thrillers. Jenna (J. L.) Hendricks has perfected that with her books about Shifters, Vampires, Fae's and other types of supernatural creatures. She is one of my Favorite Authors and I look forward to more like this series as well as Clean Cowboy Romance books. If you are just discovering her it will be worth your time to explore her works.
I enjoyed this set of books thoroughly! I certainly hope there will be more of them!
I thought this series was a blast! A young woman with extraordinary, if untrained capabilities, rescued and brought to an elite academy to become the most crucial part of an unprecedented quintet of powerful magicals! What the five accomplish together requires hard work, constant training and instruction and overcoming deeply ingrained prejudices. There will be danger, war and adventures of all kinds. Don't miss any of it!
Great series of books but I feel it is only half the story and so far nothing is there to follow it up. Although these books are a really good read and perfect for teenage readers. You will be turning the pages so fast it will be a wonder there is no fire. I just hope the story continues with Mia and friends in University and Mia doing all she is destined to do.
Totally loved this adventure!! Multi view all the way through, although with the odd mid point switch...action, adventure and mystery from the beginning, characters that you will love...pixies, magic and fae galore...another one of those you can't put down but don't want it to end!! A wonderful partnership that has delivered such a readable tale...again!!
A trilogy under a single cover makes for a long read, but the time goes by quickly and you get involved in the story of Mia a half blooded far raised as a human child by her father. Being discovered as a magical child thrusts her into another world and a school where she tries to fit in with other half blooded children. A good read.
DNF - quit at 10% By the 10% point, I hated this, it's not giving me characters I can like & I have no idea of who the "main" character is at this point. I can't get into the book if I don't like the characters. Other readers might like this, it just wasn't for me.
At my age (approaching 60), life is way too short & my time is to important to force myself to read a book I'm not enjoying, especially when there are so many other books out there waiting to be read.
I loved this series. It was engaging, it was unique but...it feels incomplete. These 3 books focused on one central problem and the actual story didn't progress far. If there are more to come after this one, I am really excited and will gladly read them but i will be sad if this story isnt finished
I bet lots of people like the "no cursing" and it was cool to read about teens who use crickets as foul language LOL. Great characters and a twisted plot to keep me reading! So ready for another chapter! Howard S
From beginning to end the story unfolded straight away and lead you to the satisfying end. Every page you kept sayingI will just read a little more and an hour later you are still reading ❤️😀
The story line was excellent but the telling in 3rd person was confusing. First person puts the reader in the story. Even switching characters in first person is easier to understand than here. I do look forward to the continuing battle.
Good characters both good and bad. Especially like the odd beings that show up to make things interesting. Side story lines work well too and give the characters more depth.
This book is amazing.I loved it from start to finish. The characters are described in such detail that you feel as though you know them. A fantastic great big thumbs up to the writers.
Well written, guys! And I actually like books and stories with no cussing. LOL. I read them anyway when they do have it but it somehow can see metes take away from the story. Well done, guys! I wish I could write too!
Brilliant loved it but we're is the next in the series. There must be more do not leave us all waiting for the next One as we can't wait. Brilliant loved it want more.
This box set of The Chronicles of the Unwanted Princess was an amusing read although at times i could have cheerfully grabbed the handling far and given them a shaking for not consulting the adults in the problems they kept getting into.
This adventure into a fantasy world. Was vary exciting and fun. So many I especially liked the gargoyles silliness. But all keeped me enthralled with the magic and more. I would love to read more from this author.
I really enjoyed these books, the story was engaging from the beginning right through to the end. I can definitely see this being made into a movie or series
