Vatican Knights #20

The Sinai Directive

Rate this book
In Egypt, those within the Saint Catherine Monastery are brutally attacked and a secret that has been hidden for more than 3,500 years is stolen.

In Zurich, an arms dealer makes an agreement with a band of elite terrorists for one-of-a-kind weapons of mass destruction, for a treasure that was presumed destroyed during the Exodus.

When a conversation between two men is covertly videotaped by an operator of the CIA, Vatican Intelligence and the Mossad realize that the partial message received was filled with enigmas. Having interpreted the data, the Vatican determines that the communication between these two men was a barter agreement that would place Israel within the crosshairs of the entire Middle East. That agreement: the Islamic State would exchange the relic of the golden calf for weapons of mass destruction.

With the possibility of bringing the world to the brink of war, the Vatican Knights are once again called to duty to search for the long-missing relic of biblical lore before the exchange can be made. However, the terrorist cell in search of the iconic piece is a faction that had been pieced together from elite forces throughout the Middle East. With Kimball Hayden leading his force of Vatican Knights, they will come up against the best warriors the Islamic State has to offer, in a race to find the golden calf.

While I do like the fact that the main character (Kimbal) finally develop the relationship with Shari Cohen and trying to put together some happiness/normalcy in his life. The story line is getting a little redundant. I would like to see a future book or two revolve around the relationship between the Vatican Knights and the Vatican hierarchy. I think the challenges and struggles inside the Vatican can be an interesting read.

Rick Jones continues to impress!

Really liked the story line. But... Needs better editing! Was making notes but finally stopped. Reading of recurrent characters is always satisfying. Look forward to the next book! And hope it's true that a miniseries is coming in the future!

footsteps in time

Our hero again finds himself in dire circumstances. More loss and less gain Kimbal as he struggles with his own demons.

Fantastic story and it as usual well thought out and planned by the author Rick Jones who writes such great books, I have enjoyed every one of his books and the Vatican Knights is my favourite. I think I have read them all now and each one has been a pleasure, the running through of the Vatican and the behind the scenes that the Pope and all his entourage do to make sure that the Knights can achieve "what they have to do?" is excellent, even though I mention the Pope it does not mean that they are Religious Books they are the Police Force of the Inner Workings of the Vatican and they are an elitist group of men who were orphans and taken in by the Church and some of them were trained to be fantastic soldiers who help to protect the world and the underdog. The stories vary and each story is different and they are so enjoyable and there are twists and turns all the time, but the real hero is the main character, and I will not say anymore as it will spoil it for you beginning the journey at Book 1 and you will be hooked, believe me, I have so enjoyed this series, I am always so pleased to see another book when it arrives on Amazon. I would recommend the books to everyone, as there is not too much swearing and their conduct is perfect as soldiers. I promise you a good read, and I have got several of my friends hooked on the books now? So give it a go!! You will not regret it!!
