"Topnotch. Stan is rapidly becoming one of my favorite authors for a satisfying, edge of your seat story with developed relationships an satisfying endings."- Lynae Wachter, Amazon reviewer ★★★★★

"Awesome series. This story keeps getting better with each book. I am completely entangled with the world of the bridgers. I love the action, imagination and the characters. The writing style blends with my reading style seamlessly. I am on pins and needles waiting for the next book, do they die/live does the whole world live or die?"- Chris, Amazon reviewer ★★★★★

“Revenge is a predisposition, not a rule.” A wonderful and emotive end to a fabulous series. It is an amazingly inventive, complex, and compelling story and one of the best reads I’ve encountered. It has been a fulfilling, heart breaking, dangerous, thought provoking, tension and action filled adventurous trip. A fantastic and realistic world building, with excellent characters. The quality of its intelligence, imagination, and prose raises Bridgers to the level of inspiring stories. Stan C. Smith has the ability and creativity to capture my mind and heart, to the point of being extremely drawn to a fantastic world of amazing creatures, and a profound knowledge of human sociology. An absolute gem! I’m going to miss it! “I aspire to inspire before I expire. Bide within the law I must, in untainted family trust.”
As with books 1-3 in this series, I got books 4-6 as a package. Again, I have reviewed them separately so that the reader can get an idea about each book in the series. The reviews below have been repeated for the individual books so that they will be seen no matter which way the reader comes across them. Although the books can be read as standalone, I probably wouldn't recommend this as you would definitely miss parts of the storyline if you did this.
The Mind of Many
With the Earth collapsing around them and about to implode Infinity and Desmond bridge out to a world that they are expecting to be similar to their own, this intending to be the last bridge withe Earth being destroyed behind them. However, something goes wrong with the bridging machine and they find themselves bridged in to a hostile world where they have to struggle to survive. Will they manage to connect with any beings on this world, and how will the survive? To answer these questions will give away too much about the story so I will leave you to find out the answers for yourself by reading the book!
This is another great read in the series with a tag at the end of the book that makes you want to read the next book in the series to see what happens next with our intrepid adventurers.
The Trial of Extinction
AS per the book's title, the humans are indeed undergoing a trial, this one having fatal consequences if things go wrong. Aliens have put the humans in a balance, so to speak, and they have to prove themselves worthy of saving otherwise they face extinction. But the humans do not know what is expected of them in order to survive and this can only be found out by trial and error.
This was another exciting read in the series and one that I thoroughly enjoyed.
The Bond of Absolution
The bridgers and migrants from Earth bridge to a planet that they have been promised will be friendly. They have been told, by the aliens that helped them bridge here that they will be expected to befriend other beings that already live here. This they set out to do. However, these beings have a secret that, once discovered threatens to overturn any friendly overtures between the two races. Can these problems be overcome and can harmony be achieved? You will have to read the book to find out!
This was yet another page turning read in the series. It would be interesting to read a further sequel as to how things progressed from where the book left matters (although the storyline was concluded satisfactorily with this book)
I really like where Mr. Smith went with this wonderful series. I was lucky enough to be part of his ARC team for the entire series. I honestly didn't think I was going to enjoy the series when I agreed to be part of the team, but I liked his other writing and joined the team, anyway. I am really glad I did, it was a great series that just kept getting better as we got to know the main characters through their saga.
4. The Mind of Many This book is another outstanding example of Stan C. Smith's writing ability. Just when I thought he'd written himself into a corner, so to speak, he came up with a wonderfully inventive way to open a window and escape the room anyway. I love the way he continues to develop characters as the series progresses, and I can't wait to see what else he has in store for us. And this from a series I didn't think I would even like when I originally read the synopsis of the first book.
5.The Trial of Extinction Wow! One surprise after another! This series keeps surprising me! In each book, Stan C. Smith dreams up new and unexpected plot twists to keep me on the edge of my seat. I truly love this series, and look forward to each new book. And this in a series I didn't think I would like based on the series premise I read before I read the first book. I mainly started that first book due to my enjoyment of Mr. Smith's other works, despite my initial reaction when I read the premise. I am so glad I gave the first Bridgers book a chance. Now I just have to wait for Bridgers 6 to find out what is in store for us next.
6. The Bond of Absolution This book is an outstanding end to a great series. According to the author, this is the final book in the /Bridgers/ series. I really enjoyed where he took us in this final book. I am sad to see the end of the series, but at the same time, I could see an entire new series written in the same "universe".
Box sets often give value for money. This collection of the second half of the Bridgers series follows that example, and what a series this is. Each of the books in the series are fascinating original stories and this set offers some of the best. I really enjoyed reading these books and was sad to say goodbye to the characters when the end came. In fact, I was actually left wanting to know what happened to them next. That’s not to say that the series didn’t have a proper ending because it most certainly does and it’s a satisfying one too. Stan C Smith has created something truly original with the Bridgers series and he’s populated it with interesting and diverse characters that all bring something different to the tale. Overall, this is a fantastic series that does honestly hook you from the start and both box sets offer the added bonus of getting them at a great price. Recommended.
This is a wonderful series that explores humanity through a series of excursions to various worlds in a multiverse of earths. We discover a lot about ourselves and others through this authors thoughtful exploration of fight or flight experiences.
The science is reasonably well explained in that some physicists have theorized we exist within a multiverse of realities, much like infinite frequencies exist in radio signals and infinite colors exist within light. Between each book there is also reasoning for the vast biodiversity across the multiverse.
I especially enjoyed the main characters, the fierceness of Infinity contrasted with the thoughtfulness of Desmond. Most importantly, this is a series with a thoughtful story arc and real conclusion. It is not a Soap Opera masquerading as literature. Very, very, highly recommended.
Humanity is gifted a means of (what they thought) time travel. It turns out that it is a poison chalice. A black hole begins to destroy Earth. Books four to six chronicle the desperate effort to find a safe place to go and how to avoid the hardware problems. This well written series is another take on the multiple timelines theory. Tackle over a weekend as you won't want to put the book down!
If you like books with endless descriptions of land and animals that a person can't envision because no amount of descriptions can give you a decent idea of what the author wants you to see. This set of books is also very depressing. Our heroes, as the saying goes, "if they did not have bad luck, they would have no luck at all"! Endless cruelty for reasons that make no sense to me. I could go on, but I hope you get the idea!
A fascinating and original conclusion to a fascinating and original series. My only quibble is that the stories contain a flawed presumption as to the genetic viability of small colonies with fewer than 50 people. Even with 50, there would be some adverse inbreeding consequences - 250 would be a more optimal number. That said, as good actors in good plays persuade us to do, there is more than enough excitement and strong credible characterisation to "suspend disbelief".
Infinity is a Bridger. The world’s government has acquired technology from an alien race. This allows them to bridge to alternate universes and different points in time. The bridgers are assigned to explore these parallel worlds and that’s where the action takes place. The dialogue was outstanding. Try book one and see if you don’t get absorbed.
I read Book 1 free and liked it so much purchased the series. The author has a superb imagination and creates characters and plots that are intriguing. I like to read but seldom get so engrossed that I don’t want to put the book down. Every book in this series had that effect.
What an imagination I don't know how Mr. smith came up with all of the ideas for the creatures on these different worlds but it was sure enjoyable to read about all of Infinity's group and the challenges that they had to face. would recommend this to anyone that enjoys a good action novel with many unexpected twists.
All six stories/books have been among the best I have read. They kept my interest without any dead or dull spots at all. This author is one of the great story tellers. If you do not like reading a series, then do not read the first or any of the books in this series. You simply cannot stop reading.
Was pleasantly surprised by this series and finished it quite quickly. Decided to take a break from my usual dystopian genre and try something a little different, glad I did.
Good world building, likeable (and dislikeable) characters. Well imagined.
And very refreshing to see such good editing in a Kindle unlimited book!
This is generally not a book a sci-fi that I actually read. I enjoy the work anyway more action than I thought it would. It has serval moral issues that people have to face.
I have posted separate review on each of the books. However, all up this second collection is a great set of books. Overall, plenty of action and as unpredictable as ever. If you've read the first three books in the series, then you simply have to read these too.
This second box set is books 4-6 and they are every bit as good if not better than books 1-3. Stan's writing is super and this alternate universe apocalypse setting will make a great binge read.
