The writing wasn’t up to par with previous books from this author. Luke was the “good old” playboy who, after being hurt in the past, never had a serious relationship so his haste in pursuing one with Mar was abrupt to say the least.
Marietta was an enigma. It’s like the author didn’t know what type of personality she should have so she went with everything. Mar was confident, determined, strong willed and independent at the same time she was insecure, naive, hair-brained and pathetic. She even tried to pull off the “tempting seductress” while simultaneously playing hard to get. The “innocent maiden” card was played too, but did not work at all since Mar dated as many people as Luke. So, trust me, this was one very confusing character.
The romance between Luke & Mar also happen way too fast. I mean first off, they were both hot and cold and couldn’t seem to make up their minds. Then within the next 12 hrs their dating! The chemistry was nonexistent and there wasn’t even any emotional build up. Their words and actions were so out of character and ridiculous that I had to skim, heavily, to finish this one.

So fun to follow the Jewel family and get to read Lukes story! I really like that these two face their challenges head-on and don't let misunderstandings bring them down. They are both driven to succeed and enjoy learning from one another. It helps that her best friend and his favorite brother just married one another! What a perfect set up!!! While the plot is fairly simple, I still really enjoyed getting to know these two characters and watching how they overcome the challenges they face. Looking forward to more from the Jewel Family!

Marietta Valez is a feisty, savvy business woman. She is also the CEO of her best friend, Cosette's, fragrance company. When she meets Luke Jewel at Cosette and Isaac Jewels wedding, sparks fly and there is definitely attraction there. Luke is known as a billionaire playboy but the truth is, he never dates a woman more than one time. Mar is an abandoned orphan and has abandonment issues. The sweet story is a fun read.

I liked Mar very much. She's not just short and successful but sassy too!
I wasn't so much into Luke though.
They met at his brother's wedding and instantly had an attraction.
However, Luke wasn't really playing with a full deck. He was a bit sporadic and I don't know off?
Mar was so much fun!! I just loved her!!

A great read
I enjoyed Mar & Luke's story. Part romance, part fairy tale, almost tragedy turned happily ever after. Both characters are real and believable, with a good plot that makes the pages turn quickly.

Another great story in the series. Luke and Mar's story is fun with many great and familiar characters. This is a sweet, clean romance.
