"Hey," I felt a warm hand reach out towards mine. I tried to avoid it, not wanting him to get the satisfaction of seeing how my body reacted to his, but he was too quick. Warmth spread, tingles spreading like wildfire up my arm.

I pulled away quickly and turned to face him. I kept my face straight, determined to make him leave me alone.

"Don't do that." His voice was low and soft as he took a step closer, not caring that he was invading my personal bubble. I had to tilt my head back to look at him, his dark eyes softening the longer I looked. One of his hands slowly rose, causing me to inhale sharply. I froze, unsure what he intended to do. Was he really going to touch me? After everything? He slipped some hair behind my ear and out of my face. "Don't shut me out, Selene." His voice was pleading, something I assumed didn't happen often.

I glanced away, conflicted. A part of me really wanted nothing to do with him, but an even bigger part was just afraid. I didn't want to have him and lose him like I had with Gabby. I shook my head and took a step back. "I'm sorry."

Decades ago, the lycan Tyrant Lord began to conquer every werewolf pack he came across, laying waste to all who refused to submit and ruled over those too weak to defy him. His kind was blessed with superior abilities; Lycans being stronger, bigger, and faster than the werewolves. It didn't take them long to cause considerable damage to the wolves. Until the Deserter came. The prince betrayed his father by calling upon the Reapers to end the war. Since then, the lycans and wolves have been separated, fear preventing them from co-existing with one another. Until now.

Wendigos were thought to be extinct. A cannibalistic breed, half-human and half-wolf, driven by madness and hunger. However, sightings are becoming more frequent, forcing the werewolves to seek help from the lycans to stop them before it's too late.

I really enjoyed this and devoured it in one sitting. The characters were likeable and the story fast paced, engrossing and enjoyable. I would have liked some more character development for Leith and I do t think we saw nearly enough of Sebastian as I’d have liked, but it was a good story with a nice twist, I look forward to future stories by the author

I was drawn to this book with the mention of werewolves, lycans and wendigoes. With a combination like that, I figured it would keep me interested. Also, I was looking for a good paranormal to "cleanse my palate" from some of my recent reads.

I found Selene, our heroine, to be relatable. Aside from the obvious fact that she's a supernatural creature, she battles insecurities about her family. She grieves the loss of her sister and mother intensely. All of the loss she's experienced makes her fearful of attaching herself to anyone else. It's almost as if she feels destined to be alone. However, she definitely isn't. She does finally meet her mate, but it takes a while for her to actually "meet" him. Yes, I know how odd that sounds, but it makes sense when you read the book.

I really liked the intrigue between the werewolves and lycans. Also, the dangerous element added via the wendigoes keeps the reader even more pulled into the story. I did want more history of the rivalry between the werewolves and lycans - - as well as some of the characters and why their attitudes were the way they were. I also really felt like there should have been a little more "heat" between Selene and her mate once they were finally together.

I was a big fan of some of the secondary characters. They added a lot of flavor to the story, in my opinion. Overally, this was a good story. I just felt that it needed a little more "something" to make it a great book. I would definitely read other books by this author.

Thank you to NetGalley for this review in exchange for my honest opinion.

I so much enjoyed Beasts! If you like fated mates, wolves, some drama and andventure - go get your beasts!
**
In the beginning, I really did not know what to expect. I started with Selene's story, was confused for the first few pages as where the hell I was and then ... I just got sucked into this amazing world. Selene was a wonderful female and a strong character who had endured quite a lot already. And on top, she was forced to leave her pack and eventually create her own. But, even though there were all those obstacles, she managed. And then she met her mate who rescued her without telling her who he really is ... and left her waiting.

I was impressed with the strength and trust Selene had in fate, even though along the way she doubted. But she managed and it was great to read about her becoming more brave and stronger. Once Sebestian came into view - oh my! He is just amazing and the dynamic between those two.. I could have read more.

The story itself is fast-pacing and full of adventures, betrayal but also friendship and trust. In my opinion there would have been still some potential to elaborate more on certain pack-members who left but overall it was a great read! Also loved the fact that we some chapters in Seb's pov :)

Wow. I really have no words for what I am thinking right now. The only reason this book didn't get one star was because I actually wanted to know what would happen.

As someone who doesn't really read books of this subject, I will say I was very much confused. The author just assumes you know what lycans and wendigos are. I legit had to google it because I didn't know.

The first few chapters were SO confusing, and not because I didn't know what lycans and wendigos were. The writing style is very hoppy-skippy. I noticed that frequently Selene would start talking to somebody, but the author wouldn't even tell you who she was talking to until a few paragraphs or sometimes pages later!

Also, Selene refers to herself and others in the third person sometimes, and I was thrown for a loop. But, once again, I don't really read books of this subject much, so maybe it's normal?

I received a copy of this book through Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.

This book had its exciting moments but the in-between bits felt a little drawn out. Don't get me wrong though, i did enjoy this.

The main characters were well developed, strong and interesting. Even the secondary characters were interesting and i would read their story if there is another book..

I really enjoyed the story-line about werewolves, lycans and wendigoes. I would have liked more history of the rivalry between the werewolves and lycans.

Overall, i enjoyed the book and the reason for only three stars is i found the book predicable and a little slow at times. As i said earlier, i would read a second book if there is one. I would also recommend this book to anyone who loves this genre.

Dnf 52%
I'm not sure why this book didn't hold my interest, I've put it down twice now and have made myself come back to it.
Honestly, it might just be me, hence the three stars. The plot and storyline were good. I guess it just felt a little like two separate books and I felt completely done at 52%.
The first half she's with her "misfit" pack, but then the author kills off some and has the others leave the pack. I guess I would have liked to see more loyalty and friendship from them or why include them at all.
Anywho ... Feels like I'm spending way too much time analyzing a dnf book, so I'll end it here.

Wolves, lycan and wendigo

Great book! Oh I wasn't sure what I was getting myself into, no other reviews, weird title, ok cover. Throw all that away right after I've said it, this book it amazing and beautifully written! What a story! For a first time author I am gobsmacked! Angelina tells a story so good with twist and turns and so much freaking heartache, ugh, wolves, lycans, and wendigo's "oh my!!!!. Please read! Step into a world of Werewolves, Wendigos and Lycans. I really liked the concept of the story and was quite surprised that there was a long timeline involved. The story kept a good pace and you get learn quite a lot about the MC's and their supporting characters. My only frustration was that the ending did feel a little haphazard and I would have liked an epilogue. Overall a great PNR read.

This book was a little slow for me. I like Selene character for the most part. She seems to get lost in her our mind a lot. The flashbacks weren't very well presented i didn't think. Over all I thought the book wasn't bad.
