Walking with Lucy was quite the ride, and now Andrew has some grand master plan he couldn’t be more cryptic about.
So while juggling school, her friends, and her former boyfriend who is still pretty great, Emily tries to convince her psychiatrist and parents that the dreams are over thanks to a new medication (that she isn’t taking).
Emily starts dream-walking about Isabella, a nineteenth century girl crossing the Atlantic. But she gets so caught up in Isabella’s world and the dreams that reality essentially fades away.
Can she bring herself back? Can she be happy in her reality and comfortable in her own waking skin when she isn’t along for the experience as someone else… in a memory that belongs to someone else?
Find out in the second book of the In Her Dreams trilogy, Trapped In Her Dreams.
Joanna Reeder is a USA Today Bestselling author who takes her readers time traveling to the past and through the portals to Faerie (and ALWAYS have a dash of romance!).
She lives with her husband, three littles, a dog, and a cat. When she isn’t writing or reading, Joanna enjoys bike rides with her family, vacationing at the beach, and cuddling on the couch with a good movie.
She’s a believer in the paranormal (seriously, she has stories!) and her motto is, "A Dr. Pepper a day keeps insanity away!"
Book 2 was the perfect follow up to book 1. Andrew is doing something crazy, something that might bring him and Emily together, once and for all. But Emily's real life is uncomfortable, and with every changed dream come life changes she's not sure how to handle.
When her psychiatrist prescribes medicine to take away the dreams, Emily is reluctant to take them. But when she promises something that will help, something that won't block the dreams, Emily thinks she may have found relief. What she finds, instead, is a series of dream-walks that threaten to push out her real life entirely.
I raced through book 2 at about the same pace as book 1. To be honest, I got so caught up in the back and forth with the dream-walks that I was almost as oblivious to the lack of real life between as Emily was. Lol. An excellent follow-up, but you won't get relief until you read book three, so I definitely suggest you get the boxset. ;)
READ THIS! If you read nothing else this year, this series is outstanding. And I have it on good authority that the author has created a book bundle, so you can totally binge read to your heart's content.
2,5. This book was like chewing the same gum the entire time. I found both the FMC and the MMC annoying. I can’t count the amount of times the FMC said she should say goodbye. And Carly role was just convenient and made no sense. It got interesting towards the end, but now I’m not sure I’m invested enough to read the final book.
Gripping sequel to “In Her Dreams”! I was not disappointed! I couldn’t imagine what it would feel like to be trapped in your dreams and not even realize it! I seriously couldn’t put this book down. There were a couple twists I didn’t see coming and I can’t wait to read the conclusion of this trilogy to find out what happens next!
Oh my god, things are really getting exciting. I'm caught between heartbroken and squealing in excitement, if what I think is going to happen actually does. I will be so very happy, my favourite character is Duncan. I instantly loved this character, he's the guy you can't help but love. The connection between him and Emily is beautiful, if only she'd realise it. Honestly there's been so many moments in this book that's had me biting my nails, and even face-palming. Yet still I couldn't bare to put this down, it pulls you in like a fishing reel catching it's prey. The storyline has several unexpected and intense plot twists, betrayals, secrets and lies. Friendships made and friendships lost, teenager angst and all the problems that you would expect from that age group. I don't know what the authors inspiration behind this series was, but it was quite an interesting idea. This is one I will read again, because seriously I love the concept of dream walking. Seeing life through other people's eyes, helping them deal with emotional or painful moments in their life. An amazing story.
This book was even better than the first! I was completely pulled in with Emily's dreams. Emily and then Lucy and then Isabella and then back to Emily... the narrative keeps you enticed as you try to figure out what will happen next.
Emily goes through serious psychological distress because it seems to people in her life that she may be mentally ill even though she's not. She gets medication that makes her forget the dreams, but she still feels the emotional spillage from them when she wakes up. Then, she gets trapped in the dreams. Then, she stops having them all together.
Andrew and Emily try to navigate their dreams so that they can be together without interfering with the lives of those who they walk with. In Emily's real life, she tries to navigate her relationships with her friends and families so that she's being present in the now.
There's a huge twist at the end and I can't wait to go on to the third book!!!
Trapped In Her Dreams, the sequel to In Her Dreams, is just as good as the first book. Actually, it might be better. I read it in one sitting. I just love the entire concept of the story, it’s so interesting. I really hope there is a third book, and soon!
This has got to be my favorite books of 2018!!! The love story, the mystery, the deep longing for two people who want to be together above all else and yet... I feel as if I’m on this ride with them and I don’t want to get off.
This book was ok but not as good as book 1. The main character is so immature that she is not that interesting. You would think with all she had experienced dream walking that she would have learned how to be more direct and forthcoming and honest with her feelings.
I won't lie, this book is probably my least favourite of the trilogy. But LOTS of really important stuff happens here, and it's still really interesting and contains no pet peeved (cliffhanger endings, love triangles, insta-love). It's a really, really good read, but not a 5-star.
The bond between Lucy and Emily is beautiful. I love their interactions. They are an amazing mix.
The story takes us further in all the dream theories and also into a lot of events. Some sad, some happy, some infuriatingly mysterious. And oh my God. What did the author do to Lucy? It's my favorite character and I swear I want to see her happy in the next book! Pretty please?
At first I wanted to give three stars, but can I remove a star because she will end up with the wrong lover in the future? Can I remove a star for hating my assumption that ?
No the answer is I can't remove a star because even when that all becomes reality, this story is creative and I truly love it.
