Will a teenaged girl take the murder case and go to jail for life, or will she rat her boyfriend out - the one she loves so much? Naive to the Streets is a gritty urban drama about a 16-year-old girl with no guidance, besides the advice that she gets from her older boyfriend Ant, who is constantly pimping out Triangle like an underage prostitute to all of his friends. He couldn't care less about who Triangle is having sex with, just as long he is getting paid for it. But Triangle is blind; she is in love. One day, as Ant and all of his friends gang up on Triangle for sexual favors, Ant gets into an argument with one of the guys. He is forced to protect himself and ends up with a dead body on his hands. In order to cover up the crime, he tries to stash the body in an old abandoned van. Days later, he tosses Triangle the keys and lets her drive away with the van, without telling her about the dead body hidden in the back. Triangle and her friend Sincere think that they are just going out for a joy ride through the 'hood and are happy to just be getting out for a drive, until she is pulled over and the police officer notices something wrong in the back of the van...
This was my first read by this author. It was good from beginning to end and what a ending. Triangle, didn't stand a chance. She was naive and young, easily taken advantage of. It was well written and flowed really well. The more I read, the more I wanted. Good job A. Roy Milligan.
The storyline was good and interesting. He could have given a little be more background about Triangle and how she got that way she was. The flow could have been better it felt kind of rushed and some things needed more explanation.
This is the second book which I have read in the genre of Urban Crime Drama. I gave the novel a one star rating for several reasons. Firstly, I notice that when some male authors, such as this one, write stories featuring a female lead, the character is often defined within a limited scope. This character Triangle feels contrived and silly. The author's lack of depth in defining the character fully really was a sore point for me. Also the casual depiction of rape, domestic violence and sexual assault was very off-putting. These are very serious issues which affect women and should not be so trivially depicted in a book.
Also why would an experienced drug dealer such as Red meet an 18 year old girl (Triangle) on a plane, immediately befriend her and put her in his circle? Does not sound credible in the real world. The story was rushed in parts and very sexually explicit. Very little was said about Triangle's past and why she turned out the way she did. Triangle was characterized as a sex-crazed teenager surrounded by men who bully, rape, abuse and exploit her throughout the entire story and yet she gets killed violently in the end? where's her redemption? All the men get off scot-free and she winds up dead.
AND A WOMAN SHOULD NOT BE SOAKING HER VAGINA IN VINEGAR EVER! This dangerous myth about "tightening" vaginas which are "loose" should not be promoted. This further adds to the author's misogynistic views on women and especially women from certain socio-economic backgrounds. This book was a total miss for me and I try my best to support Black authors but....no.
"Don't try to love someone else when you're not sure if you love yourself. "
The protagonist was a young naive and lost child swallowed up by the streets. The way her tale ended was the only logical outcome. She moved recklessly throughout the story and ultimately it affected the lives of all those she touched. The author did a good job of creating this tragic tale of what could happen when 1) you have no direction or guidance and 2)when you don't love yourself or know how to love yourself. The story moved quickly. The messaging was clear and well-executed. I would have liked a bit more character development and a smoother transition when the scenes progressed with little no explanation of how we got to the next point. There were certain scenes that were glossed over quickly with one sentence that required just a little bit more explanation. For example, How did she get out of the triple murder charges to a deal with the feds to set people up? How did that come about? As far as spelling and grammar errors there were a few instances, but nothing that pulled me out of the story. All in all, this was a tragic yet entertaining example of a childhood lost 3.5
It was an ok book. I feel some of the scenes in the storyline was short and the author could’ve gave the readers more. Some of the chapters stopped/ started at some of the most random times. Triangle had a lot going on and majority of the time she caused her own life drama. I knew things was going to go left after getting involved with Shed simply because, she do to much to be low-key. I really thought after meeting Crews she was going to turn her life around. I hate how he ended up doing her. I felt bad for how things ended for her but, her mouth and the game she played caught up with her and unfortunately, she had what was coming for her.
Very entertaining, yet tragic! I guess the bad guys win in this and a young girl with no love or guidance cannot catch a break! Forced in every situation imaginable only to lose in the end and everyone who has done her wrong to benefit from her even in the end! Sadly that’s how life seem to be fit do many! I feel so bad for her though! I like it though it’s different!
🤦🏾♀️ Girlll are you that Naive!! You out there snitching what u thought the shit wasn’t go catch up too you!! You got ur whole family caught up for being stupid! This book was most definitely good! Triangle was put in a bad situation, just got caught up, she paid the price for it.
Riveting novel walks you through the life of a girl name Triangle who was young , gullible , dumb,&naive..... tragic ending.... True saying the worse ass whooping is the one you give yourself! Poor thing I felt sorry for her not listening to the wise advice her uncle gave her costs a lot of innocent people to die. Definitely a Good Book and a Must Read!!!
Triangle was really naive in this life she didn’t learn she should have keep everything confidential She’d should had told her that but she had known she was playing a dangerous game she had wonder why the taxi was asking on these questions sometime it not all about the body it’s loyalty
OMG, Triangle was extremely naive!! I was screaming in my head at her foolishness.
She was so reckless with her life especially unprotected sex with EVERYONE she encountered. I figured she was going to get caught helping the feds but never knew it was going to end like that. I thought for sure she was going to turn her life around 😢

Yes this was just a little to much for me, I know stuff happens all the time, but I wish people would learn from there mistakes. The ending was sad but you could see it coming. Interesting read. That stuff can get you killed or keep you looking back.
This was my first read from this author. I must say it was really, really good, no grammatical errors. Could/would not put it down, read every dropin one day.I'm looking forward to reading more of his book. If you come across his books, read them ASAP.
This book is sad and unfortunately the life some females choose. It’s clear that Triangle is abused, misguided and a victim of sex trafficking. She has the choice to change but fails to do so which leads to her demise.
This book was definitely one for the books! It was gripping the entire time. The tempo of the book kept the reader on their toes. I haven’t given a 5 stars in a while so GOOD JOB FOR SURE 👏🏽
You end this badly. Why kill the girl ? Naw! She was young and fighting for her life. She was doing something good. She only want somebody to love her...Naw!!!
I don't know what made me read this book but I'm glad I did. I have mixed feelings about the end but then again, you live by the streets you die by the streets.
Wow this book was something else. Triangle when thur a lot at a young age and all for nothing. Detective Shed did do everything in his power to help her eventhoug he had her doing the most. I don't know what possess Tirangle to run her mouth profusely as she did to the cabbie and also turning on Sinceres dad like she did when Sincere was the only friend she had. Good read.
