Sunken Empire
When Rubi finds herself out on a singles cruise headed for the Bahamas, she can’t help but to wonder how her life has gone so horribly wrong. Many speed dates later and one drunken night on the deck sends Rubi head over heels, literally. She finds herself in the cold water of the Atlantic watching the boat she was cursing not long ago, sail off into the distance. Stranded in the middle of the ocean, she knows it’s only a matter of when she dies, not if. When three gorgeous identical strangers show up out of nowhere, Rubi is certain she is drunk and hallucinating. As they whisper dark promises in her ear and drag her into the dark abyss, she says goodbye to her pathetic life. Little does Rubi know, she is about to be thrust into a world full of magic, centuries old prophecies, sea monsters, and mermaids.

I received this book from the author for an honest review.
When Brandy told me she was writing a RH about mermaids….girl I was all in. I think I have read maybe 1 or 2 mermaid books. Hello mermaids are awesome!
So I started reading the book and was initially in love with the males in the story. Each Mer was totally different but all looking for the way to reclaim their kingdom. When they go out on a swim, they feel a put and get a sign that their mate is near. Enter Rubi. The three brothers are knocked on their butts over her.
Rubi is a hot mess and I love that about her!! LOL She is on a cruise and gets wasted drunk before falling off the boat. She wakes up and thinks she has had a one night stand with people on her cruise. She is kinda taken aback when they throw the whole “Mate”, “Queen” and “Life” at her. But seriously, I love her hard core.
As the story goes and Rubi and her triple Z’s fall into a routine the story throws a huge couple of plot twists like who is Rubi’s dad and who is the new stranger to enter their kingdom.
The story is amazing and seeing all the changes and additions to the cast of characters made my heart so happy. I absolutely loved the world building Brandy did for the paranormal world. I cannot wait to see what happens especially after Rubi does the unthinkable not knowing what is appropriate and not. She is all in for her mates and their kingdom. She will do all she can to help protect everyone she touches.

Love me some mermen! I love the premise of this story! Rubi is a hot freaking mess. She is on a singles cruise, gets a bit tipsy, and falls off the ship. She has chalked it that she is going to die. She wakes up in a swanky room with three incredibly handsome men. She thinks she had a crazy one night stand and is still on the cruise ship. Oh the things she feels and how she reacts to finding out that the three handsome men are actually cursed meren….and her mates….and then finding out about her true past! Oh the list goes on and on. She is the hope for these mermen to break the curse and bring life back to their realm. Then she realizes just how comfortable and at home she is. She is to be their queen, but has absolutely no queen-ish mannerisms. She is an absolute riot! Her hunky mermen all have crazy different personalities and each one worships her like the queen that she is. You really get to see their love for each other when other characters are introduced.
I was immediately sucked in with Rubi and her sarcasm. Then there are the three Z’s (the handsome mermen) and their crazy different personalities with all of their hotness. Smush this all together and you have a wonderful new world, full of intense love, laughter, and some hawt sexy time. Oh, and don’t let me forget the action. There are monsters out there that are full of hatred and nastiness. The battle between good and evil is never ending. I love how this story ended and am looking forward to the next in this series.

I really enjoyed this new story by Brandy Slaven, especially because of the mermaid theme!! I haven’t read a lot of mermaid books but I loved the way Brandy described their tails, powers, and how realistic everything read in terms of being in/under the water. I love the brothers antics and how their relationships grew with Rubi and developed throughout the story. I am super intrigued by some of the side characters, esp those who joined them towards the end haha. I can’t pick a fav brother, which I think is a great sign that an author made them all have traits I would love. Rubi was a strong MC that I liked and can’t wait to see what happens with her as Queen!! Loved her humor and snark, esp when teamed with Zeph 🥰
The reason I couldn’t give it 5 stars was because there were some plot inconsistencies and some odd transitions that took me out of the story. For example, like how they communicate underwater. There were times some of Rubi’s internal monologue was repetitive. Fund more errors than I normally do in books, esp Brandy’s. Don’t get me wrong, I still liked the book, but I think it needs a little more polish before I could change it to a 5 star rating.
I would definitely recommend this series, you will love the escape it brings!! By the way, the first chapter or so from book 2 is at the end.....like I totally need that book right NOW😂. I am hooked, definitely will be waiting impatiently for Owan’s story ❤️❤️❤️

Rubi finds herself on the brink of life and death. Stranded in the middle of the ocean, long story, wondering when death would find her. But hold on, things may not be as bad as she thought when three gorgeous identical strangers show up out of no where. Not sure what she is seeing is real, but knowing she needs their help, she goes with them. They drag her into the abyss. Rubi knows that what happens next is something out of a fairy tale. Her world is about to to be turned upside down with magic, prophecies, monsters and mermaids. Yes, Mermaids.
Who would have thought that mermen could be so sexy? I was not a big fan of them until Sunken Empire. I knew Brandy would do a good job of creating this world, after all I do enjoy her past works.
Rubi is a character that I enjoy reading about. She has this whole destiny thing going on, one that she knows nothing about but must learn as she goes. On a single's cruise, trying to meet men. Getting drunk and falling off the ship. But being rescued by three hot men who say that you are their savior. I would so be in!!!
Brandy has done a great job of creating this supernatural world. One that I cannot wait to see more of.

This was my first mermaid story and Brandy has made me a mermaid fan. Seriously those mermen are so yummy.

This book starts with a downtrodden and slightly drunk Rubi falling from a cruise ship into the open ocean. Instead of facing a horrific and lonely death, three mermen find her and take her to their keep. From there Rubi discovers a world of magic, curses, learns of past wars and secrets about herself as well. Mysterious and dangerous secrets lurk in the dark and Rubi and her mermen must navigate it to break the curse and save their realm. A good read with plenty of delicious steam, I look forward to reading more from this series to see what kind of interwoven tale Slaven weaves for us.

This book gripped me from the first page. Well written with great world building, I was excited and thrilled that there were merfolk! Rubi is quite the character, with great inner monologue, she is sassy and down to earth and you cannot help but love her. The guys sound gorgeous, they all have their own personalities and quirks that I fell in love with. It’s a great storyline, well paced and full of excitement and drama, a few twists that you just don’t see coming. I cannot wait for the next book in the series

I love, love, love, love this book!!!! Brandy is fantastic in her world-building. The plot builds at a steady even pace, but still keeps you in page-turning-OMG-what-will-happen-next-I-am-finishing-the-last-chapter-at-2-in-the-morning suspense. The romance sparks from a sweet, slow burn to a sizzling, raging forest fire, and back again like three times. I truly enjoyed the magic of her writing and very, very much look forward to the next installment.

Rubi has no idea how much her life is going to change when she decides to take a cruise. Talk about a major life change. Rubi is the missing princess. So much is expected of her. Of course who doesn't love mermaids and mermen. These are some seriously sexy mermen. The characters are all different. Each with their own personality. There's some silliness along with the serious. It's a great start to a new series.

This story is amazing, original and sexy! I really enjoyed the characters, Rubi is hilarious and her men are sexy as hell, all with completely different personalities. I can’t wait to find out where this story goes. The magic, and the adventure make this an entertaining storyline and I very much want to ready where Brandy Slaven takes us in the next installment. Definitely recommend this book to those that enjoy magic, mermen, and good verses evil.

I really enjoyed Sunken Empire.
It is a great reverse harem book. I have not read many mermaid type books but this one has made me a big fan.
I loved every part of this book, the sexy men, the banging twists, the awesome FMC.
I could not find a single fault with this book.
I can easily give this book 5*.

Oh my damn! The Little Mermaid story for adults
Brandy I don't know how you did it but this story was freaking AMAZING! It's a new take on every girls wish to become a mermaid. The whitty banter, storyline, characters and hot as f*ck scenes had be tied to my phone to finish reading it. Thank goodness you'll be releasing the next book soon! I need it in my life!

Enjoyable
I personally have a love of all things mermaid/siren. That means I was super excited to see this book release. The start was a little rocky, as most series are, but eventually the story found its footing (finning? Lol). There are curses, wars, a prophecy and of course a big bad to keep the story moving forward at all times. I’m looking forward to the next installment.

My my Miss Rubi how you get yourself in trouble. This makes me want to find my own amazing water men. I enjoyed the book. I loved the steam level and found myself wondering what would happen next and try to figure the books twists before I read them. I only stopped reading to get a water and use the bathroom. Loved it.

Who knew that getting drunk and falling of a cruise ship could end up being the best thing that ever happened to you? Rubi sure never expected the world she found herself in. I was always a fan of the little mermaid so seeing a book with mermen. I was all in. Great new world we are introduced to here. Can't wait to see more of it.

Lost Princess and Four princes
An impressive delivery of a new kingdom. I've not read a lot of books featuring mermaids. I enjoyed the way the author brought this Sunken Empire to life. The FMC seems an introvert that is brought out of her comfort zone by three sexy mermen. Add a fourth and life just gets spicier.

I wish I had a better review for this book as I had been so looking forward to it after a recommendation but it disappointed me. There was no substance. It was multiple pages of non existent character building and small world descriptions. I wish I had stopped reading at the beginning but I kept hoping it would get better.

Dead in the water. Kept trying to finish it, but I couldn't. Characters seemed two dimensional and immature style writing. I know this author doesn't normally write like this, so I am calling a one off.

Love the world created by Ms Slaven here! I love all the characters, supporting as well. A great start to a new series and I’m excited to see where it all goes.

I loved it.
I’m not huge into Fantasy but I thought this book was done really well.
I also love that there is no major cliffhanger to the book.
Rubi is a great h and her 4 mates are super hot(especially for mermen).

Great story
I really enjoyed this book. I haven't read a book like this before. I really enjoyed Rubi at the character. Starting off on a singles cruise that's not going too well I'm having a little too much to drink she falls off of a boat and finds herself in a whole new world one that she belongs in all along. It's an interesting journey to discover if this new world. Or new realm. I find the mer-people story very interesting I've never read one before. It has a great Story about how are basically cursed and she is who they need and that's all I will say I don't want to give too much away but I will say it there are some awesome dudes with some cool names. And really enjoy all the characters. This is definitely an interesting story that keeps you glued in with a lot of cool details definitely world-building great story and great FMC

Every girl dreams of being a mermaid at some point in her life. And some never grow out of it. 🙋🏻♀️ So of course I loved this novel! Rubi is so relatable and her guys 😍 I need a couple mermen in my life! 🧜♂️
