This collection of poems about the community in Eastern Oregon where Schott lives is like a box of chocolate truffles in all my favorite flavors. Every poem is delicious. She writes about the landscape, the people, the history and traditions. Some of the poems are as short as two lines, but they all pack a punch. Most are in couplets, but she plays with form as she tells the stories of Dufur, especially the wildfire that raged through not long ago. I am awed at the beauty of this book.
