When other little girls wanted to be ballet dancers I kind of wanted to be a vampire.

I have been fascinated with vampires since I was a young teenager girl and my first vampire romances were the gothic historical ones. Their is something so interesting and captivating about a lover who is immortal and who will love you forever,but vampires are fickle beings for they all live for the hunt and like any great predator once they have enthralled and seduced their prey the thrill is gone and someone else will take your place,because eternity can be a very long time for one's such as them. I am so impressed by this series!!! I haven't read a historical vampire series this well written since the great Anne Rices Vampire Chronicles and that's saying alot!!! With characters like michel baptiste a loveable rogue who has fucked many and loved few and his one true love and best friend and vampire christian who even after being made a Vampire still wanted be a husband and father,but when he had a chance for this let the ghost of a old lover and finding her cause him to walk away from the one woman who could have truly loved him, Amanda is a desendant of the witch josette who not only was the lover of the powerful Geatan but Michel and Christian as well. Amanda loves Christian but when he walks out on her and her unborn baby and leaves michel to watch over her she is heart broken and like josette her special blood calls to not only michel but to Victor one of the ancient ones who wants her and will protect her from not only the jealous josette who wants to kill not only her but her unborn baby,but also from the very powerful fallen angel and vampire Ghislain who wants Christian to rule over all vampires. Denise is a fabulous writer and her storytelling and blending of paris during the French revolution and present day is flawless. Things aren't always what they seem and vampires are very good at keeping secrets but so are the mortals that love them and Amanda has been carrying one for along time and it will effect michel and shake him to his very core. Can't wait for more from this series!!! Denise assures me theirs more to come from these intriguing vamps!! until next time luv's💞💋

Its been over three years since I read the last book (and 4 years since the previous book in the series was released). If you look at the reviews (or you were around then), you know that I liked and even loved this series a lot, both for the classy writing style and the beautiful romance and the dilemmas that these characters got caught up into. Its a great vampire story. I still remember a little from it but to be honest, my biggest worry about starting this one had to be how continuous it would be and whether the fragmented memory I had of it would affect my immersion to the story. Its always a challenge when it takes years for a sequel to come out. Luckily, the novel gives us a good bit of transition and description to make the crossover easier and there was a lot of little bits that pieces what happened before together so that what happened in the previous novels came back fairly easily. If not everything, the crucial parts were recounted just enough to make it easy to catch on to the foundation of what to know.

One of the aspects that I’ve always loved these books is Denise K. Rago’s writing style. Its elegant and classy and uses the power of refined vocabulary to create these relationships and mystery behind both the scenario and the characters. It has these very fluid and vivid descriptions that seem just enough. Its refreshing to read a vampire love story and use he characteristics of rather refined characters to create a history behind them that has so many layers. Especially since the vampires themselves, especially with the many new characters introduced to create a multilayer sort of story and each of these characters, because of their past, all reflect in the way they speak. The detail behind each of the characters is something to truly applaud.

At the third book, Eternal Hunger still manages to change the scene from the first two books. It still feels standalone in the sense that there is an effort to still recall events that happened in the past to make it easier. At the same time, the characters create shifts. There are twists and turns to the story and most of our main characters eventually reach their own change. While the story keeps a good pace, the only downfall is sometimes the change in the timeline creates this jump which makes it feel like it rushes through some plot lines, however, at the same time, I’m not sure if elaborating or emphasizing more would have been good either. As there are still enough twists and turns to make it quite the pageturner. For a third (and I would think final) book of the series, this definitely is quite an incredible feat.

Eternal Hunger is book 3 in Denise K Rago’s vampire series. I have read both Immortal Obsession and Blood Tears.
This third book in the series continues the story of Christian Du Mauré, Michel Baptiste and Amanda Perretti. These three have been in a love triangle as Amanda is mortal but the descendant of a powerful vampire Josette Delacore. Amanda’s blood is irresistible to immortals.

This book starts off where the last one left off. There is plenty of drama and mystery here as the chapters alternate from 1700’s past to present then back to the past again. Secrets are also revealed.
I found I wasn’t too keen on the changes in the timeline only because it would be for example 2010 then 2014 then back to 2010. The story is alternately narrated by a few of the characters, Josette, Christian, Michel, Amanda and even her son Julien. As I mentioned this is book 3 in this series and although the past is explained throughout I feel you should still read the first two books before jumping in.

What I enjoy about these books is that author Denise K Rago has a passion for art and the French Revolution and her descriptive passages about France and its museums are nice to read about. Versailles is on my bucket list.

I also like that the plot has many layers that are revealed bit by bit with dramatic writing. There are twists and turns and surprises throughout and this third installment leaves it wide open for the next one.

I met author and fellow Jersey girl Denise K. Rago online several years ago through book blogging and it has been really nice reading her books through the years. If you enjoy paranormal sagas with dramatic vampires and a dash of art history you might enjoy these.

Denise K. Rago’s “Eternal Hunger” is the third tale in The Enchanted Bloodline series. This series is a great series and I could definitely see it being made into a television show. Rago weaves a complex web of a story line, with a full ensemble cast of really deeply defined characters. You can tell that the author really loves the characters…a lot of care and love go into each interaction. Clearly, all of the twists and turns have been well planned. I enjoy all of the different relationships and can’t wait to see what Denise writes next.
