It was a fun read until I got to a part where Gates has an elderly black man speak in dialect--"I's gonna call my son." Ouch. Yes, some black people speak like this and we shouldn't respect them any less, but it is still demeaning for a white author to put this in print.

The first half of this book was great. I was reading it very fast. Just past the half way point things started not making a lot of sense and even frivolous. They made the story to complex to even try to describe here. The ended was not good at all.
