Hey Stranger

Rate this book
Samantha didn’t even want to go with her mother to her event but since she loved her mother, she decided to go. It was there that she met, Charles Richardson; a famous actor her mother was obsessed with. Sam wasn’t impressed with Charles at their first meeting. She didn’t get what the fuss was about him.

But that wasn’t the last time Sam and Charles’s path was going to cross. Upon meeting again, Charles spontaneously invited Sam for a weekend getaway to his log cabin. She loved every minute of their time in the cabin and realized that although Charles was a big-time actor, he was like any other normal guy. And she couldn’t help but like him.

But life had to have a say in their fairytale. The moment Sam and Charles returned to the real world, they were shown why they couldn’t be together. Sam was just an ordinary girl and Charles was simply in a different world.

Could their love be bigger than their differences and could it be enough to make both ends of their worlds meet?

This is a cute romance. A man changes his life for his woman. A very unusual premise. I enjoyed it. This could be read by anyone and understood and enjoyed.

Light narrative and sounds so conversational. No confusing jargons or highfalutin words that would have you reaching for your dictionary. A good love story that is sure to appeal to young ones and those who are young at heart. Worth every penny I paid for.

Starting off with my personal opinion, I loved the book. I loved it because it was a lighthearted short, lovable read. At times I was swooning over the characters. I loved the easygoing writing style, and the ever-so-slight grip it has on the reader. I would recommend you to give it a read if you are into short quick reads and heartwarming romance.

This beautiful novella is set in a small quaint little town where the female lead, Samantha lives with her mother. Samantha's mother is the President of Charles’ Aunties, a community of women, who are huge dedicated fans of Charles Richardson, a famous actor. Be aware, Samantha is not a fan of Charles like her mother. Sam and Charles first meet at one of Charles’ Aunties gatherings. The story picks up from there and evolves gracefully.
The characters are pleasing and down-to-earth. The romance is swoon-worthy. The whole time I read the book, I was treated with splendid visuals playing in front of my eyes. I had a smile plastered on my face for almost the whole read. The writing is not overly detailed and also it has quite a well-laid-back dictionary. A quick note, but one I think is worth a mention, I loved how Anne had described the outfits of Samantha. (Mwah!😘)

To round it all up, it is a sweeeeeet and beautiful story with an equally beautiful ending. Dear Anne, keep writing, you will reach great heights. You inspire me to continue writing. Looking forward to reading more of your works.

I won this book in a giveaway on Instagram so I had no prior insight into what the book was about and I hadn't read anything previously from this author.

The story itself is an easy read, a novella, short and straight to the point.

I'm rating the book 3.5 stars not because it was a bad story, but because I felt that it needed more, it came across as a bit basic.

Just because it is a short story doesn't mean that it has to lack detail.

For me there just wasn't enough emotion coming through which meant I didn't fully immerse myself in the story and I didn't really sympathise/empathise with the characters.

Wth the right editing I think this story has the potential to be even better than what it is right now.

This novella is a super quick read. It's a sweet little romance about a young girl named Sam who falls for an actor named Charles who her mother happens to be obsessed with (she runs his fan club). It's a very light and innocent story. My only critique is that the tale mixes tenses, which sometimes makes it lack flow, but it's a good first effort by the author, Anne Marla.
