With even fewer photos than the first book (none), the book is still incredibly well-written and holds amazing facts about the baseball of the middle-third of the 20th century. The book skips over much of the off-the-field history that took place over this tumultuous time period. From the impact on the sport by the two World Wars (and Korea and Vietnam) to great economic upheaval, baseball integration, expansion, and the looming labor troubles. Still, the book is a great font of information and light-hearted trivia that's bound to keep you wanting more. I look forward to the next edition, hopefully with some literal color added in as well!
