The artwork is somewhat endearing, however every character is positioned as though they were failed mimes trying to convey movement.
While I'm not asking for watertight continuity in books for children, there is no explanation for how the young bear tore his pants halfway through the story, unless we infer he was doing some particularly ferocious manus in the scene immediately preceding.
It's fine for conveying simple activities like walking, jumping, and crossing the road, but it comes off as pretty dated against comparable books by Julia Donaldson, where there's a lot more effort put into characterisation and plot.
