Rate this book
Monsters, myths, and legends exist outside our imagination. They are the echoes of a long-forgotten history.

Deep beneath the Nile, a submerged tomb has been opened, revealing the remains of mythical creatures and an artefact of incredible power. Those responsible for making the discovery will stop at nothing to keep it a secret.

Eight months later, teenager Sean Livingstone happens across photos of the legendary artefact. How was something this important kept secret – especially from his estranged dad, a world-famous archaeologist? Seconds after he downloads the images, they vanish from the internet. Sean is left puzzled. Has he unwittingly exposed a conspiracy of world-shattering proportions? Or is he simply being fooled by an elaborate hoax?

School vacation is drawing near. Sean is all set to leave Australia for Egypt, where he will join his dad’s research project to scan the Great Pyramid for hidden chambers. It’s a dream come true – aside from one major problem. Sean remains haunted by the death of his mother. It’s a secret his dad buried and concealed like a royal tomb, never to be disturbed.

Sean is determined to unearth the truth, regardless of how painful. He is about to enter a world plagued with deadly adversaries, chilling conspiracies, ancient mysteries, and terrifying revelations about the origins of life on Earth.

Prepare for heart-stopping action, archaeological mysteries, and an epic sci-fi saga that reaches deep into our very existence. The adventure begins here.

Monsters, Myths, and Microchips is the thrilling prequel to the Sean Livingstone Adventure series.

Andrew D. Connell writes breakneck, page-turning novels for young adults.

Andrew is an undeniable genre fan, with a passion for science fiction, action and adventure, mythology, history, and any great conspiracy theory. Like a lot of kids that grew up during the 70’s and 80’s, Andrew is inspired by the popular films of the era including Star Wars, Indiana Jones, Blade Runner, Alien, and the list goes on. He endeavors to bring that same sense of wonder, emotion, and excitement to his novels.

Andrew’s an avid collector of film soundtracks and considers this style of orchestral music an indispensable writing tool. You’ll find him locked away, writing to the sounds of John Williams, Jerry Goldsmith, Michael Giacchino, and many of the great modern composers.

Andrew draws on years of experience from working in film and television to his writing. He’s written several award-winning screenplays and directed, edited, and color-graded hundreds of television programs and short films.

Andrew lives in Melbourne, Australia. He has a wife, three children and a cat named Bilbo. When he’s not busy running between work and kids basketball games, rest assured he’s hard at work on his next novel. He also likes to squeeze a good book or television series into his schedule.

A trite story that seems full of misinformation, disinformation, a child’s viewpoint, and the California Style Dream:

“…His aunt and uncle arrived home with his choice of birthday dinner: pizza from the local wood-fired oven pizza shop. They all sat around the kitchen table and ate. Steve finished a slice of ham and pineapple and wiped his mouth with a napkin….”

YUCK ! THIS IS NOT SOUTH PHILLY PIZZA! THIS IS LOS ANGELES PIZZA !!!!!

THIS ENTIRE THING IS SOME FOKKING HOLLYWOOD SCRIPT FROM 25 YEARS AGO !!!

What an excellent start to a series!

I’m a huge fan of Ancient Egyptian history and myths, and at the same time, sci-fi and adventure stories. I absolutely loved this book because it combines them all in one.

This book’s plot is highly intriguing, and all the characters are well developed. I loved Sean. His internal struggles feel real, and the way it is woven with the main theme is mind-blowing.

Monsters, Myths, and Microchips is a novella, but it packs the excitement and thrill of a full-length novel. The plot has enough twists and turns to keep the readers on the edge of their seats. This is the first book I’ve read by this author, and I’m definitely coming back for more.

To sum it up, I would say this book is modern-day Sci-fi Indiana Jones.
