I was so impressed by this book that I bought a few more in the series for my son. They get a bit repetitive (the all seem to start with there are lots of different kinds of X, or X are from Australia) which was very disappointing. But overall the word selection in the books are great and if you read only a couple as stand alones you won’t notice the similarities.

Yes, an adult can learn from a board book and I definitely did. There are several different kinds of octopuses, who lay oval eggs, and are related to squids, cuttlefish, and the nautilus. This title is part of a series that covers an animal for each letter of the alphabet. There is factual information here and most of the terms begin with the letter o.

O is for Octopus is one of the more informative books in this series of ABC book boards. It makes an animal that would otherwise be a bit squishy and slimy warm and cuddly.
