They say opposites attract and most times the one you love is like fire while your ice. For Micah Reynolds and Power Thomas they are the real example of that saying.
Micah is a senior at Syracuse University. With one semester left until graduation, Micah is making sure everything she needs to complete this chapter of life is in line. With school being her main priority to make the best out of her dreams, it seems the only thing missing is that bomb ass counterpart that will have her weak in her knees. She wants to have that person to call her own but in a world of situationships and casual flings, that’s hard. But when she comes across Power, her entire idea of a relationship changes.
Power is the bad boy that can’t be tamed. Casual flings is just his thing. When you run the streets and the only thing that matters is money and power, a steady chick isn’t on the agenda. But when a night out on the town brings him in the presence of Micah, he starts his mission of “I gotta have her.”
When she plays hard to get and he’s persistent as hell, things just become one hell of a power battle. In the end one will submit to the other and they both will learn what it takes to be what the other needs. To be in strong like is good but to be in love is a feeling that has major power behind it. Despite their differences they may just be each other’s type!
Born and raised in Syracuse, New York, Malay Reneé found her love for writing while in the 7th grade, through her love for theater. Being in love with plays encouraged her to start writing out her own ideas and turning them into her own world of scripts. As she got older she wanted to tell more stories, more in-depth. She loved using her imagination to come up with short stories about her perception and ideas of love and her spin on real life drama.
In 2017, she proudly finished her first full length novel. Once it was finished she had no intentions on pursuing a career in writing because of so many doubts and fears. In 2018, she took a leap of faith and looked into making her childhood dream a reality. As of now she has penned and published 13 books and plans to expand her writing career as time goes on. With this new journey in writing she plans on getting back to the original root of her writing, which is love.
Penning love stories that aren’t you traditional happily ever after’s. “Writing in love untraditionally” as she calls it. She still reside in Syracuse as a Teaching Assistant and amongst other titles she takes on the best title ever as being a mother to an adorable little girl.

I loved how Micah stood her ground when it came to Power. The way he kept popping up on her had me cracking up the whole time I was reading. I also loved how she made him work for her and her goods, and he paid the price when he messed up. Nothing like a strong woman, who knows what she wants and won't tolerate anything any less.
The storyline and the main character Power, were the significant reasons why I enjoyed this story. He was Alpha Male all day. And the fact that he couldn't boss his girl around was the icing on the cake. Micah was not one to allow a man to push her around. Although their power struggle was real, they complemented one another nicely. A good read. Thumbs up 👍 good.
Enjoyable read! Power was a force to be reckoned with! He wanted what he wanted, when he wanted it; and what he wanted was Micah. He chased her, and did random pop ups, until he wore her down. She would give him that fire right back, as she was not for all his mess. Watching him change from the rough, street dude to a caring romantic for his girl was sweet. Although there were many ups and downs for this couple, it was a beautiful love story. Good job!
Micah is what every woman should desire to be. Dedicated, strong, goal oriented and herself. Power is lucky to have her because she's definitely a catch. I'm happy she held out on her virginity as long as she did. That's a damn unicorn in these times. I love how Power handled it the right way too. I enjoyed every moment of this story!!
I enjoyed this. I haven't read much fiction these last few months with school required reading taking up much of my reading time. Micah and Power were the perfect set of characters to kick off my summer reading binge. The family dynamics were unconventional and it was refreshing to see how much love there was among both Micah's family and Powers.
This was my first read by this author and it was fire! I am a new fan and plan to read more. I loved Power and the happy ending for him and Micah! This book was really a good read! Great job by the author.
This book was good. I loved the bond between Micah and Power. It was like they was made for each other. The ending was perfect and I was happy they gotten an happy ending.
This is my second read by the author and thought it was cute overall.. I would love to see her dig a little deeper and bring a little more authentic reality to it, I felt like I was rushing through it and not really savoring it because it didn’t really seem savoring worthy. But over all cute little read
This was a great read from beginning to the end. I’m glad Power and Micah was able to work through all the drama and got their happy ever after. From the storyline to the characters, i was engaged and anxious to read what was going to happen next. A must read indeed.
This was a good story. Micah and Power were a cute couple. Opposites definitely attract. This was the first book I've read by the author. Ill definitely try another book.
Man this book had me cracking up and tearing up! I love the characters! Micah and Power are too cute. The ending made me so happy. I almost thought... never mind! You must read to find out
It took me a minute to read, mainly because I lost interest once and not a huge fan of books with a lot of unnecessary cursing but I pushed through and glad I did. Overall good read. I'm a sucker for a bad boy with a heart and Power was just that.
I loved power! He had some issues but he was still a sweetheart at his core. I’m shocked she accepted that offer at the end. She a good one, it couldn’t be me!!
Cute story, well✍ written. Great characters with great chemistry ❤😘. Power and Micah were funny as hell and he was to roll up 🚘king. Delightful but unexpected ending. Great job Ms. Malay!!✔👏✍❤
Power for the win!!! I loved this couple and their dynamic. The storyline was great and the personalities of each character was perfect. This was a great read.
This read was not for me. The main characters were very childish and predictable. Literally every cliche hood drama theme was included. Power has a lot of growing up to do and his outlook on life and women is sad. Writing style was very immature and underdeveloped. Lots of short sentences and basic dialogue structure, almost as if the writer doesn't know how to form paragraphs. Transitions were also poorly written. Overall I didn't care for the story or writing style.
