Love Actuary: A Big Tall British Guy Romance

Rate this book
When a brief full-frontal makes his latest film a Titanic success, Richard Suda's production company decides to insure his biggest asset. Not his acting talent, Richard's johnson. As a Shakespearean actor who's made it big in Hollywood, Richard is mortified. That is until he meets the deliciously uptight appraiser Cynthia.

"Spooky" Cynthia Locke has it all figured out. As an insurance actuary, she calculated the odds she will meet her true love, and it is never going to happen. That's OK. If they don't meet, he will never break her heart, leaving her free to insure everything from the toes to the tits of the rich and famous. Will Cynthia seduce and betray Richard to get her dream promotion, or will Richard convince her that he has the position she really wants?

"Cyra Noe writes love scenes you feel with your entire body and your whole heart."

This is a fantastic romance! The female lead is independent, rad, travels to fun and exotic places alone, and has a cool job. She's relatable in the way she describes her past relationships and the way she interacts with the male lead. The male lead appreciates her and isn't threatened by her independence and success. I liked the slow burn of the love story and the fun and quirky side characters. This romance novel has heart and laughs, I highly recommend it!

This book has so much heart! Love Actuary centers around Richard Suda, a Hollywood actor made famous because of a brief full frontal. When he gets on the wrong side of his producer, he's forced to go through the process of insuring his johnson through an actuary. Enter Cynthia Locke, actuary extraordinaire who is on Richard's case. Things quickly get personal as Cynthia and Richard talk, realize they both hate the entire concept of what's happening and abscond on a whirlwind international romance.

From the very beginning, the book is full of humor as Cythia needs to manage her sister's ridic . Not only does the book handle a ridiculous concept with heart, it's also truly feminist showing the emotional toll of being objectified and in the tabloids for both Richard and Cynthia. The story doesn't shy away from difficult topics like body insecurity or #metoo, but uses them to develop a deeper storyline. What's even more impressive is it does all that while keeping a light and airy, eminently readable tone. I could believe how they fell in love and they have the foundation for a real relationship. I read the book in two sittings (with a break between them because of world events) and could barely put it down.

I recommend it to all romance readers, especially those who like fun and a bit of drama with heart.

If you are looking for a nerdy romance with the deft combination of X-Files and beheaded Caravaggio references then look no further than Cyra Noe's Love Actuary. Not only is it full of feelgood feelings and humor it is a perfect globetrotting, whirlwind sexy romance. Richard is hot. Cynthia is hot. They're hot together and you'll get hot reading it. I may be saying hot too much. Regardless, make yourself feel warm, fuzzy, and HAWT and pick up this book today!

Our sweet cynical Cynthia takes us on a ride of a lifetime, through her hella relatable joys and fears. Richard is, to me, the Hiddleston that never Swifted and is thus the ultimate Hattie and how I wish all my favorite actors ended up in reality.

Cyra's voice is polished, punny and luscious.

10/10 would reread, 10/10 would recommend.

I read this book in roughly 48 hours. That's actually rare for me - I don't read books very quickly. But I just could. Not. Stop. Reading this one.

Things I liked: Cynthia! So much Cynthia. She is a smart, independent woman who has her own baggage, just like all of us. I really appreciated the way she worked through it. Also: Tall sexy British actor man is an actual human being, cares about consent, and is a genuinely good person.

Basically, I loved it. Five stars. Highly recommend.

Debut novel from Cyra Noe, a contemporary romance with a strong female MC and a tall British guy.
This is a sweet and beautiful story between two people that are really good for each other.
I have to admit I have a little crush on Cynthia. She is fiercely independent and you just got to love her personality and nerdiness.
Be prepared for hearty laughs, nerdy references, sexy scenes and globetrotting adventures.

I enjoyed every word of Love Actuary. The entire book was injected with great humor that only proved to bolster the real heart of the story. I never know what I'm in for with romances, whether I'll be prepared for the steamy bits or able to suffer the bad decisions of the couple, but this book didn't have those problems and felt very natural with likable heroes who you root for easily. A huge bonus is the underlining feminism and message of this story as well. I didn't feel like I had to compromise my own morals and still like these guys and that was a big win!

I'd recommend Love Actuary to anyone who wants a lovely story, a believable romance, a fair few very sexy scenes, and a hearty laugh. This book has #bigdickenergy and I really enjoyed it. Will be looking forward to more books from Cyra Noe!
