This must have been written by Frank Richard's dog. There's none of the usual punchy and quirky writing style, every person makes bizarre and out-of-character decisions, and it's generally a bit of an imitation of a Bunter book. I can smell a ghost writer here. Seriously, Quelch has never been portrayed as careless, dropping important envelopes and books from his pockets at every turn. And whilst Bunter and Coker have always been pretty jolly thick, I really can't imagine Coker hiring a tramp to mug Quelch, or Bunter taking his 'bad lad'-ishness to such a level. 1 star.
