Clifford Lewis was one of the very first graduates of Bob Jones College. This book is being used by one of the lady Sunday School teachers at my home church this quarter as supplemental reading for the young women in her class.

Some of this book was really good and some wasn't. I appreciated the use of Scripture throughout and I loved most of the poems and stories. There was a good emphasis on knowing Christ, daily prayer and Bible reading, and a family altar. But salvation was mainly summarized as making a decision for Christ. It was also a bit on the legalistic side especially at the beginning by saying do this and don't do that. Certain absolutes were said to be wrong that the Bible doesn't say, like dancing, playing cards, going to the movies, and drinking is always wrong for Christians. Which it isn't, it can be but it's up to each Christian to have their own convictions when the Bible doesn't explicitly mention something.
